I feel dirty doing it.

But it doesn't affect us at all. And surely the better they do,the better quality it sort of means the A league is that we play in.

That makes sense right? Sort of?

I AM NOT WEARING A FURRY COSTUME IN GOAL AND THAT'S FINAL

Technically, it's Cosplay.

Right, well, in that case I only do Xena: Warrior Princess cosplay.

Points noted.

Wellington Warrior Princesses FC would probably sell more merchandise than their brother club.  The fact that the management haven't expanded the franchise in this manner is exactly why gifted youngsters like Marco and Kosta are leaving.  How do we expect them to develop as players without a W-League team?

After all the abuse we find out that nothing has been signed. Nothing has been confirmed besides the fact that all you Schizophrenic pr*cks just both ran down a player and pleaded for him to stay. So much for being the guys who gave him his big chance. For a scholarship which worked to promote youth football in New Zealand you seem pretty keen on his career failing before its even started.

Do you even know the kid? Shy is an understatement, and I don't think a malicious thought has ever passed through his head.

2nd post on this forum- and no I'm not Roddy. If you've ever played with him you would realise that he would have a less measured response to all the abuse and probably would start swearing in his native tongue.

Sorry mate, just the one's who have been willing his plane to crash, and his whole family to die. All those meat heads.

Besides the fact that I do want him to succeed in his career (not saying whether the Victory will help with this) I do hope he stays. Gives me another place to crash down in the capital after games.

Do these 'meat heads' have names?  Aliases?  Are they even members of this online community?  If not, why are you coming here to dress them down?

So you take one or 2 posts and decide thats representative of the YF group as a whole?

I'm not condoning vitriolic posts but the Victory forum is even worse. Rodi has already copped quite a bit of abuse there. And as for Mate Dugandzic.... It is just an unfortuinate fact of the internet. There are a lot of idiots out there who can say things with anonymity.

Snowy, Ekoh last posted here on the v Glory thread in late January. As you say, if it was out of line then the mods may have deleted it, or just as likely Ekoh himself might have thought better of a rash outburst and deleted his own post.
Like any growing football community, with lots of passionate, outrageous and (occasionally!) very funny people on here, no surprises there would be reactions ranging from very supportive to downright abusive.
No one sensible will condone the latter, but many feel a lack of loyalty or betrayal.
Marco will know from the size of this thread and the speed in which it has grown there's a strong wish that he should stay in Wellington for this season at least. With just 10 or 11 starts, this season offers the opportunity to consolidate his brilliant form and return the faith and commitment shown to him by his YF fans, the Wellington Phoenix management and his team mates. If a better offer came from outside of the A League- great! Go for it.

See Kosta in the DomPost this morning saying the problem is that Ricki doesn't trust homegrown talent? I wonder whether he's been doing some knitting at Kiwitea Street.

he probably feels that way in his case to be honest. Not really the case with Rojas though.

Kosta has every right to say that. He was given a few opportunities and was OK without really nailing it, but he wasn't really given good opportunities or persisted with. Ricki's job isn't easy though, it's a fine balance between experimentation and making sure the Phoenix put up a good performance. Crowd numbers fluctuate quite a bit relative to performance so results are pretty vital. I think Ricki is becoming a bit more adventurous and trusting in youth. Earlier this season he could have moved Muscat back to left back again, but instead resisted and gave Musa a shot.

Disagree. I don't think Kosta has have every right to say that Ricki doesn't trust homegrown talent. Kosta MAY have every right to say that Ricki didn't trust his talent. Subtle difference.Jag2011-03-02 09:53:06

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

At the end of the day it is Ricki's call who to to play. But there is also free speech. A reporter went and asked Kosta a question to gain his insight and he answered. And I tend to agree with him. There are not many examples but we can draw on a few. Brockie was ignored while players like George were brought in. Marco didn't get much of a shot in his first season. Is Clapham really worse than Toto? Very few examples but they do give me the impression that he doesn't place a lot of faith in young creative attacking NZ players. Or maybe 'didn't' is a better word. Ricki is learning and improving, and as I said before he seems a little more inclined to trust younger players now. rjmiller2011-03-02 10:07:10
