Oh yeah, I marinaded my venison steaks in hoisin sauce with a little olive oil, salt and pepper!

All credit to the opposition.

Football is a funny game - you can't switch off for a moment.

One side wanted it more badly than the other.

Left me feeling as sick as a parrot.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I've got a venison leg roast. How do you recommend I cook it? Been told anything other than steak is tricky to get right.

I recommend a slow roast of that one. It will stay tender but if you cook it too quick, you'll be eating boot..

Definitely more than to the comments in this forum.

Was this the first time the final whistle was actually booed? It was upsetting but not really surprising. I tried to start a one-woman chant of "we love you Pasty" but it didn't, um, catch on.

Pasty had a good game...

apparently it tastes best if you drive it down to Wellington and cook it slowly in our oven

Well, while we have been fawning over the Welnix up to now, in hindsight this total football isn't our game.  I've herd there are rumours for big changes in the pipeline, but for now we are in a rut this season, staggering towards the top 6.

That second half was certainly a hard roe to hoe.  Our goal scoring has also entered a fallow patch.

Doubt even Drogba would be able to score with the service Brockie had in that second half.

We gotta put it behind us, and focus on Sat night now. We got a body clock friendly time slot in Aussie, just have to hope the heat doesn't screw us.

I think what we are missing is some Sth American flair - some Sambar style football, and we're definitely missing an in-form Moose-cat.  Our midfield also need to step up and provide good Cervus to the forwards

I wonder if anyone else will get Red-carded this weekend as we go all out to Sika valuable away win.

This "total football" I keep seeing mentioned.... what exactly has been the difference? We hoof it long 10% less? Is that it?

It's a joke that this brand of football we're supposedly playing is fast paced and attacking minded. Utter rubbish. We barely had a shot on goal in the second half and those subs certainly didn't intend any fast paced attacking football.

Herbert I'm afraid is a PR master and knows how to self preserve via media comments that are so far off the mark. He's a coach that only makes selection changes when forced to by injury or suspension - he doesn't want to stick his neck out and look like he's made a call.

If he has any self respect and wants to retain any dignity, the Ni are bottom and he needs to step down and admit the Nix and he are currently not a good fit. He isn't the best coach for te club anymore. Simple.

From what I can see the directive that ricki has used is something like as follows: 1: Mark instead of hoofing the ball every time down to half way, give it to one of the defenders (but not siggy), 50 per cent of the time. 2: Leo, Tony and Andrew when you get the ball don't hoof it, but give it to Manny and Vinnie. Siggy you are however not trusted so give it a hoof. 3: Once it gets to Manny and Vinnie the total football dies a natural death with the occasional exception when they pass it to Stein on half way, who gives it back to them.

Auckland will rise once more

I think your giving Ricki the "credit" for the non changes and the direction the team is taking when is hould be going to one Gareth Morgan, given the directive who in the reserves list would you bring in for Vinnie, Siggy, ? I'm expecting you'll replace Locky with Hogg, and perhaps siggy with Boxall but I don't see who in the remaining squad you'd bring in to solve the actual problem we have in the midfield - this is not making light of the defensive bollocks we are seeing.

Would like to see the foreign quota evened up between teams first. Imagine the outcry if ours (and others') went down while WSW's went up.

Not necessarily, I've been in Melbourne when it's been hotter at 6pm than it was at 3pm. However as you say, 25 is not too bad.

I agree. We may try and pass it very slightly more often but I am not seeing this huge change in style. We still punt it, we still get it wide whenever possible, and we still put in crosses that find a Phoenix player once in about every 50 attempts.

I really can't see why attempting to play possession football seems to make us incapable of defending. 'Total football' is being used as something of a smokescreen in my view.

Possession football is very reliant on your midfielders being familiar with how to trap and pass a ball. Once we acquire these basic skills the sky's the limit.

To play the style they want they need a ball playing midfielder. Its that simple. And it may take a wallet to get that player.

Am I nuts or did the A league highlights show not show this game at all?

They usually at least do a skip through of our games. A new low.
