Paul Ifill on the Crystal Palace FC Crossbar Challenge. He's second to last.

Someone should get the Squad together with a camera after training and do one?!
Would be interesting to see who would come close. No doubt Ferrante would be close

Only if they put a crossbar on the roof of the stand....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It got boring taking points of "the raving irons" that season and the next!

More footage from Ifill helping Millwall to a win over the hammers, did everything but get on the scoresheet, think we got a good un here lads! Well done Terry/Tony/Ricki etc

Noooooooooooooooo!

Gutted, absolutely gutted.

The only consolation is that footballing ability is usually inversely related to taste in music so maybe it means he's a good acquisition.

Somebody send the man a copy of Phoenix City quick. Rewind selecta!

Q. Best goal you've scored?

A. The final goal of the only hat-trick of my career, against Cambridge United about five years ago. It was a decent goal - left-footed into the top corner from 30 yards - but it was especially memorable for completing my hat-trick.

Here is the hattrick. Probably already been posted but meh

Cheers for that link. If he can score goals like those 3 for us, we'll all be very happy fans.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Honestly, my heart sank.

I'm getting used to the idea now. All the best footballers have sh*t taste in music. Apparently Steven Gerrard's favourite album is Phil Collins Greatest Hits!

Based on that logic Ifill should be brilliant.

Seriously though, he seems like a good signing and I hope he has a cracking time while he's here.

KoL aren't great but they are still better than most of the crap that is on the radio. Would rather have 'Use Somebody' or 'Sex on Fire' than Billy Ray Cyrus's spawn or Lady GaGa.

But thats aiming for the whole goal. If he was aiming for crossbar it will naturally hit the roof. Say didn't they had a crossbar challenge last season? I can't remember but didn't Durrante hit the bar?

Muscat did I think. Was on the Order of the Phoenix.
And yeah but I'm sure Ferrante would know to aim low, and then ofcourse he'd hit the bar

Yeah, and it's giving the club the pre-season buildup that's been lacking.

I suspect a bunch of people will turn out for the early home games just to see what the "Ifill fuss" is all about.

And they'll come back if our new boy can walk-the-walk, the team can play some attractive football, score a heap of goals and win most of their games.

If everything clicks, we could have a great season. Maybe play some finals football?l

I'd be a starter for that scenario.

I feel like that could actually become a really strong partnership. As long as Ifill can play up front, then this could be the strikepair of the league. Although, other teams are looking VERY good

judging by some of the pre season results posted of 442 some teams are looking hopeless!
i know that we cant read in to them to much though

imo we are above NQ, CCM, Newcastle based on squads alone and are probably in the same bracket as Sydney and Brisbane. That doesn't take into account that CCM usually have terrible squads and still seem to do well though. Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and GC will probably be the ones to beat. I do have a feeling that Perth wont live up to their potential though.

I'm gonna be a happy man when I can stop speculating about the season and actually watch it..

Great interview with Ifill played on 2ZB this afternoon - I'd post the link but can't get audio on demand to work. The interview was between 1.00pm and 2.00pm on the Wgtn network if anyone else can geth the link to work.

Ifill sounds like a real pro and is coming to the Nix with the intention of making his mark.

Huge kudos to Tony P - Ifill had other offers coming together but it was Tony P's persistence that won the day.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Sounds like he googled YF! Also spoke to Nick Carle, Muscat and his girlfriend spoke to Durante's girlfriend.

Great interview! Very articulate and sensible sounding isn't he?  There are not too many sportsmen who come across so well.  Not so much for the interviewer though - he has a terrible voice for radio.

sounds like a real good guy. knows why hes coming and he has ambitions and goals that he has made. he will be a great guy to have on the park will bring alot of experinace.
I've thought that has been one of the things that has holted the phoenix last season, not having much experiance in bigger leagues or for a long period. although we had coveny and johnson last season, they were not consistent starters. in V1 we had aloisi and I think he brought alot to the club.
