The lack of definite answers really is bullsh*t. I will not be purchasing a season ticket until this is resolved and we actually have a squad that even meets the minimum criteria of the league.

From a Nigerian prince?

Seriously, if Terry can weasel his way out of the creditors' meeting, then those of us who want a new owner will have no recourse but to hope that the FFA agrees with us. Because I think that short of the FFA tiring of the financial shenanigans, it looks like the WPFC licence will have to be prised out of Terry's cold, dead hands. I am no longer sure that this is a good thing.

If as has been reported that there have been breaches of the licence agreement (e.g. not paying Ricki) I think the FFA could take the licence back without too much fuss, with or without Terry's aquiesence.  Although if it was "forcibly" taken I wouldn't be surprised to see litigation from him

I would be concerned if John Dow or John Morrison were involved.

Maybe, but I'm more concerned about Terry keeping it now

I gotta say, I am loving all this drama. Well worth the price of a season ticket.

I think those who feel nervous/anxious/insecure right now need to take a bit of reality check. This is what it's like a lot of the time for a lot of football supporters around the world. Get used to it, because regardless of who actually ends up running the Phoenix this season this is not going to be the last time we go through something like this.

It's professional football after all. It is by definition part of the entertainment industry. And as I say, you just can't fault the entertainment being served up at the moment. Even the journos are playing their part - bunch of f**king clowns that they are.

As for the season itself, I've got my expectations well in check so anything more than the wooden spoon will be a bonus. No doubt all you rabid right wingers and psycho-social players will rage at me for being unambitious, but f**k it, even if we had recruited really well we don't have a divine right to win the league. There's only ten teams and guess what? Someone's going to come bottom. Bet the world doesn't stop though.

So go on Terry you little beaut. You just keep punching above your weight son. Sure you'll probably end up flat on your arse but everyone loves a trier and you've more than earned the right to have one last throw of the dice. And what's good enough for the FFA is good enough for me.

Everybody else just click here and smile at what a weird and wonderful world it is (still can't get over this, it makes me happy).

Considering the YF hierachy own the Phoenix he probably did make it up.

Just another example of the exec not being nice.

Typical of those YF exec bullies forcing the FFA to backtrack on 19 Sept deadline.

Anyone else find it mindblowing that this has ended up on the nix's facebook page, rather than the official website?

If it's the official position, then why is it not there?

Oh Steve-O, what a wonderful sense of self-entitlement you have, throwing a tanty because your sugar daddy ain't handing out those big lumps of sugar like he used to.

Can I remind you that it is actually completely within the power of the Wellington sport watching public to make Terry's financial problems irrelevant to the future of the Phoenix. How about we try a little self-determination here? Buy those season tickets, support the sponsors, encourage friends and family to do the same. Look at the example of Ahmad (and others) down in Dunedin and the way they threw themselves into promoting the Brisbane game. Look at the continuing efforts of those who run this website and associated activities.

Your attitude makes you part of the problem, not part of the solution.

From the DP this morning:

The ongoing uncertainty is frustrating fans, with an online forum thread stretching to 95 pages on Yellow Fever's website as of last night.

I would be interested to know what % of the posts are actually angsty compared to posts having a lol at what is reported in their rag and other publications.

Terry's money problems are the problem. Unless you now believe that Terry fails the "fit and proper person" test, which is certainly a proposition one could make an argument for.

Terry has a business credibility problem, of which the money is a symptom.

Very grateful for all he has done, but we need new owners to take this club further.
