The day that Gareth "Poo Fetishist" Morgan is no longer involved in WelNix I will breathe a sigh of relief.

It just has Gareth Morgan as no longer a director of the General Partner he is likely a Limited Partner but is simply not a director of the General Partner any longer. I'm actually surprised he was still a director seeing as he hasn't been visibly involved for a couple of years.

Don't those documents say it's been like that since 2011?

Didn't even look at the dates, was just looking at the two companies.

I still remember him coming into the zone and taking his shirt off.  Plus the $1000 giveaway at a few games.   I always liked Gareth and it's a shame his passion for the team seemed to die.

Do you think he's a person who has something that catches his interest and he focuses on that and then onto the next project?

Maybe he felt it was job done when they got Burns and Merrick!

When do we expect Rob - with all this new time on his hands to devote to footballing matters - to name the (hopefully new) coach for next season? Before our licence runs out would be good... ;)

They are doing it for the community and football, if they were looking to make money they wouldn't run a football club.

Yes our club has one of the smaller backroom staff, but I think we should give our owners a lot of credit for all the good that they have done with the academies and the playing roster. Heck, we should give them credit for just being there paying the bills because without that there is no club.

They must care if they are willing to loose money running a football club. Most fans will spend a few hundred $ a season supporting their club, these guys are spending tens/hundreds of thousands of $ supporting their club.

I think this is one of our most important off-seasons in our history coming up.

The owners and co.  have a lot of work to do in terms of looking for backroom, managerial (potentially) and player replacements. The five seasons or so (with the exception of 14/15) have been... tough for the Phoenix brand. We've only got three seasons left of our license that is guaranteed and we are desperately needing to out-survive the FFA's grip on the A-League.

Let's see if the owners and decision makers can save the nix again.

One of the most sensible things the owners have done.

The new coach should have a say in the playing roster.

Dome said the club has no set date for finalising a coach, but did state they would ideally like it finalised by May 30, when those ten players officially come off contract.

I would want a new manager in asap so that they can have a look at those off contract so he can decide if he still wants them.

A cheap solution although they have been told that they have to reapply for their jobs.

Anyone serious about the job would have been watching games and players from the day Ernie stepped down.

A coach who starts the day he is signed is not following football enough in the league he aspires too.

The wages question makes this interesting. An increase or are they going to go cheap and offer them what they currently on?

Article says that they are applying separately, not as a team.

It's a shame that Michael Lynch, one of Australia's most influential football writers, is so down on the Nix.

"There should not be a team in the A-League whose presence means Australian clubs lose out on money and revenue as a result of the NZ side taking up some of the cash which is paid to all A-League clubs in the shape of TV dividends."

But the Nix ownership surely are putting more money into the club and hence the league, than they are receiving in TV money aren't they?....

Dom Post writer Hyslop makes some good points though.

Yeah. But 60% of Australians in Aussie are casual f*ktards, so the rest are full on...with apologies to this:

Not much to be gained by being rude about Aussies. We are playing in their league. Its like the Leicester fans chanting insulting things to the Spanish while visiting in Spain.

but it's a thing that's going to loom constantly in the background while it's only on a short-term basis, and after a year w/ no progress, it's worth discussing.

Interesting opinion piece on what makes a good club owner. I'm no Juve fan but the idea of owners who are passionate fans themselves is appealing. It's a shame Terry was overleveraged and throwing money away all over the show. If only you could combine WelNix's financial prudence with Terry's love for the club.
