I like Smith. He showed my son some cool new tricks at the open day last year.
I thought he played well pre-season and got into the starting 11. Stepping up, the new midfield. But then after a few games they ALL played pretty shit, it was the team that failed not a single player.
I personally don't like how forum members talk sometimes about players, sure they are 'Pro's' but it is still personal. I hope they don't look to often into the forums for their own sanity.

Patrick Kisnorbo (Aus) is out of contract at Leeds and spent half the season on loan at Ipswich - he's 32 and had a few injury problems. A-League may extend his career if he's looking to come back to this part of the world.
Corey maybe an option now Merrick is here too - pace and a player with plenty of promise.
Mid's - he has talked about local players and he wants guys who can pass the ball - Clapham to finally get a chance? I know Ricki looked at him but always thought he was worth a shot and more likely to make the step up than Totori

The comment about wanting pace in the other striker he wants to bring in would also rule out Rory I'd imagine.
He mentions Local a bit so outside of the academy that leaves the NZFC - who could step up? ACFC have a few options but they'd mainly take up import slots. Feneridis may be worth a look to as midfield cover.

I quite liked smith also. The only reason I think that I would have let him go was because of the import spot that he was using. The whole team was shit last season and not just individuals. I do wonder if he would have shown better if Ricki had played him in the position that he was brought in for and not just any position he was played in

His touch doesn't look the greatest but he appears quite strong and seems to have a fairly good range of passing off both feet with decent pace.
