Trying to think about players we can sign on the cheap that are Australian - What about Panny Nikas? Had forgettable spells at CCM and NQF but is older and (hopefully) better now and ripping it up in the NSWPL from midfield (17 goals in 40-ish appearances; topping the goal scoring charts this season). Would be worth a trial, I reckon. Looks a better option than the Ginger-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named

So was Brownlee and Tsats and Downey. I kinda think if they have had spells where they have been crap elsewhere, don't touch them.

Tarek Elrich is waiting for Adelaide to sign their 2 Spaniards. They will see what is left over, to see if they can sign him also.

I asked a Queensland sports guy about the Sherminator:

Paul Frederickson @paul_football

Was reported that CCM only would offer 180k and he was on 480k at the Victory. So that was the roadblock for that deal. Maybe Heart play for Karagounis has given it the push it needed.

Flores to sign with the Nix??? If it is true (which I am very skeptical about) and he can live up to his potential it would be a great signing imo. Can't really see him coming down to Wellington but I wouldn't turn him down that's for sure.

Agree. We have Carlos and a cast of other attacking players. Ernie wants a striker and thats it. Flores wont be getting signed unless he has learned how to defend and play in front of a back 4 all of a sudden.

I was also thinking that it would be difficult to gel/blend players such as Ifill, Hernandez, Flores in the same starting line up. If Flores were to sing with the Nix (Which I doubt), who would have predicted Ifill, Hernandez and Flores in the same team 3-4 years back? In their primes that would be one hell of an attacking force! I feel like Ifill and Hernandez at least are probably on the decline and have been for a couple of years. I hope they prove me wrong however

Ok, Flores was tried as a false nine last season and previously as a CAM. Hypothetically he turns up in Wgtn, would he work as a deep lying playmaker?
