Phoenix Transfer Speculation 2013/14

Not sure there's all that much to be excited about - he got loaned out to Unterhaching U19s two years ago, made a few appearances at the start then dropped off the radar, and was then released by Bayern after that. And as far as I can tell, he's had no club (or at least a professional club) in about a year.

So think that is 3 RBs we are trialling.

This chap and the guy who drunken Jeff says has signed with Marseille during the post match drinks. Who is number three?
That would be funny if I could drink but then you knew that Tuiloma is a left footer, right?

He can kick with both feet Jeff hence why he plays RB, CB & LB.

There should be an expectation that any kid that wants to be a pro footballer should be able to kick with both feet as a minimum (Tyler Boyd are you listening?)

In the half dozen games I have seen him play, he has only ever played LB or LH. On Saturday, he only used he left foot and was the primary one for his first touch as well.

I have never seen him play CB but that's not to say it has not happened.

Played CB against Croatia. Used both feet. Played LB againts Uzbek. Obv played RB for U17's. Looked like he was at RB a couple of times in Fiji when Roux didn't start. Never seen him for Birkenhead (Ew the shore!) so I'll take your word for it
And I totally AGREE on the both feet thing, which is why I'm not the biggest Tyler Boyd fan although at least he keeps his head up with ball at feet which is something Fenton struggles with...
Now to this Marseille thing? What was actually said JV? :)

Is Luke Adams signing as an under-20 player because one of the current three are leaving?

Permalink Permalink

Still can't believe he is deemed better than James Musa. Whatever happened to Nick Branch?

Didn't he have to retire because of serious injury?

Haven't heard anyone talk about Luke Adams previously - didn't get a chance to watch the U20's games; any serious potential there?

He didn't stand out to me. Be a bit disappointed if we signed him straight rather than gave a trial, which is what I'm still hoping has happened. I just don't think there is any real demand from overseas teams that there is any need to rush it.

Heard he has signed a one year contract and a large number of the rest of the U20s are trialling for two weeks.

Imagine if we had a local newspaper with reporters dedicated to reporting sport who could get paid to find to go down to Newtown park and find out some facts for us

Article by Sam Worthington on stuff today says he is on trial. Makes more sense to me.

He also said that Traunmuller's mother is NZ-born when she was born in Bangkok so I don't think he's too dedicated to fact checking.

Is it Adams as everyone seems to be predicting? Or maybe Dom Traunmueller has impressed.

Ooooohh exciting!

Anyone else think we've actually got a pretty primo team on paper, attacking-wise at least?

If Ernesto gets this midfielder he wants and sorts out the fullback situation we'll be in a pretty sweet space i reckon.

I know they're both getting on a bit now, but the idea of hernandez and ifill playing together is pretty mouth-watering
