what about young aussie lad called Hamlet Armenain or something similar - he just got a huge rap in the latest 4-4-2 rated as one of the best strikers in aus outside the aleague has been linked to victory and the bling, is only 23 and has been scoring a bag full of goals, would be cheap to. Wouldnt mind seeing someone like tha signed as the second of our two new strikers - give ricki a rough diamond and see if he can polish it - i think its worth a gamble if we secure a good 1st striker

Just emailed Ricardo's agent asking wether he had found a new club yet.

This is what i got back :

Hello Jordan,

Ricardo still is without a club.

The situation for the Wellington Phoenix can be very interesting.

Please let know what is the idea of the club?

My contacts are down bellow.

He seems pretty good off the volley, wiki doesn't have much of his stats at all, wonder what his ratio is since he's not listed as scoring anything on wiki yet has many goals in the video.

Interesting.

The two clubs he's played for don't inspire confidence...

looks preety good... not trying to be a kill joy but we of all people should know that video footage of a player can be deceptive.

Wonder if Rickie would ask Roy Keane if he had any striker prospects he could recommend to the Phoenix. Would'nt hurt to ask.
Keane is probably been checking out heaps of players in the EPL off season with a view to strengthening Sunderland. He certainly would be up on the recruitment scene....mind you, that scene would be at a much higher level than we could afford.

Shevchenko could be  bargain Marquee - even the US clubs are snubing him as "past it". His value and wage demands must be decreasing by the hour!!

Milan want Sheva but american clubs don't? Surely confirms Milan's reputation as the retirement home of footballers! They signed a 34 year old Ibrahim Ba for gods sake! Just after he failed to make an impression in some Scandinavian league!

Ba is one of their former players, and as you know Milan looks after its own. Apparently Ba had fallen on some hard personal/financial times so they gave him a small contract for the season to help him out. He was never going to play or anything...

I think the frustration at no news on a new striker is starting to show, particularly in light of the stated intent of signing 2 new strikers and the disappointment of not securing Joel Porter.

I think the club is doing the right thing in taking the time necessary to make a good signing but my concern is the longer we take the less choice there will be. There are obviously a lot of other clubs also trying to secure a top striker and we don't want a choice of everyone else's cast offs or left overs.

Whilst taking time to make a good decision it wouldn't have hurt for the club to give a liitle more reassurance they are on to it.

Hopefully all will be revealed soon and we will be very pleasantly surprised. Hopefully we get the striker pack that comes with the complementary right back.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

We still have 2 overseas spots in the squad, so the striker could come from anywhere in the world.
So we're probably not going to run out of options ...

like i said - Qu Shengqing or Zhang Yuning...

Zhang Yuning was rubbish.  Grossly over-hyped.  The Chinese Beckham ?  Maybe Victoria.

Both released and unwanted by other A-League sides.  No thanks.
