Almendra was perhaps the biggest and most theatrical cheat I have ever seen on a football field.

...but his name rules! sign him, sign him now!

Hell No... once again, if an A-League side released someone and no on else chases them, why would we want them ?

I thought he was in talks with Sydney?

From what I have seen he's told the press he'd like to play for Kosmina and that's it.

Mind you, if sydney sign him he'll have to be be close to free as they have no cap left.

Right - with you - still who else is there that we could potentially land currently in the A League?

rukavstya ?

Rukavytsya could be a good a secondary striker actually, if smeltz got injured id be happy enough to Rukavytsya step up.

I think he'd learn much more from Covs and Smeltzy that he would from Eugene Dadi too!!!

Rukavytsya has a lot of potential and I think he would work pretty good alongside Smeltz. Don't think Perth will let go of one of their only attacking weapons though. He's signed on there till the end of the 08/09 season anyway so it's not worth thinkin about.

Alex Brosque? When does his contract expire? End of this year or early next year?

Wasnt Sasho Pertovski wanting to move away from CCM?  Or is he staying now that the wrong aloisi has chased the bling to the bling. 2ndBest2008-06-06 10:03:21

Wont be Brosque either. He's signed on to Sydney and they definately wont let him go.

It can only be Mrdja or Kwasnik imo. Lawrie has said he would probably keep Mrdja for another year on a heavily reduced contract, so that leaves Kwasnik. (who is also signed on for another season at CCM, but I can see Lawrie letting him go)

Yeah, there are not many players still not contracted for next season. Here is a list from the Sydney FC forums, so can't guarantee  accuracy

CCM:
Contract expires end of season three:
#4) Ian McAndrew
#9) Nik Mrdja
#15) Andrew Clark
#17) Matthew Osman

Perth Glory:
Contract expires end of season three:
#1) Jason Petkovic    (wants to play on, Mitchell still undecided)

Queensland Roar:
Contract expires end of season three:
#20) Matt Ham

Any other targets would have to be released. CCM have Caceres and El**ch which could make Kwasnik surplus to requirements. I don't see Brosque going anywhere and would fit in a 433 with Aloisi and Bridge. So it is slim pickings if we are targeting a current A-League player.

Well at least we now know that the Porter thing is definitely over (for this season at least). It's good to have a bit of finality to the saga at last.

Mrdja and Durante together in the same team? Do you think they could play together after Mrdja broke his leg?

How would Kwasnik compliment Smeltz? I guess he has a bit more pace about him..

Draper as well.

quite correct.

i mean theres not much point now finding a striker for the sack of finding a striker.
you might as well spend that money on putting an extra security guard on at the game cause unless this striker is quality i can only think he'll be sitting in the stands anyway.

I'm not convinced that a strikers sack should be given much consideration if he's a potential target... although some of the ladies may will have a different opinion...

I suspect the ladies would require any striker to undertake some manscaping first.

Could be a concern that they'd be too rooted to perform on the pitch though?

A shame about porter. We could do a lot worse than Kwasnik. He's got age on his side and he is pretty talented. Would love to see him come to the nix.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kwasnik at the Nix to be honest, or the man with no vowels. My money is on either of those two.
