This is a much more understandable move, go play in front of loads of people for one of the best teams in the league. I'll wish him well and I think we have a capable (but not outstanding) replacement. Unlike Smeltz, this actually seems to be a footballing move
Probably good salary cap wise also, depending on who the backup is

What if Theo ends up staying at Melbourne? (not that likely, but nothing is confirmed yet) He'll be fighting for 2nd spot instead of 1st.

[QUOTE=hepatitis]I rate Langerak ahead of him
what a joke
Langerak definately has the potential to be much better than Moss. He was better than him in our game earlier this year. (though that was Moss's worst game in a Nix shirt)

this about Felipe from a 442 article about Fred on front page
And one former Phoenix signing, 27-year-old Brazilian Felipe, could also be back in the A-League.
Panopoulos, who also represents Felipe, says the player is back in Brazil after the Gold Coast Galaxy franchise was passed over in favour of Gold Coast United.
"We had an agreement for him to come back to the Gold Coast Galaxy," says Panopoulos.
"Unfortunately, when that fell over because of the FFA's decision not to include that particular franchise, we had to scurry to find him a new club.
"He spent three weeks at Wisla Krakow in Poland which unfortunately didn't work out, and when the transfer window closed, he came back to Brazil where he has been playing until recently with a local club when their season finished."
Felipe and fellow Brazilian Daniel were two players who lit up Phoenix's inaugural season last year. Their partnership blossomed after Felipe's fitness improved over time. However the club and player parted ways in the off-season.
"In relation to the A-League, he [Felipe] thoroughly enjoyed his time at Wellington and he would definitely consider coming back to the A-League," says Panopoulos.
"I also think that Felipe left a good enough impression that would warrant some interest in him from some A League clubs."

We have the greatest scope as far as import space goes I spose (and squad space). I think he was pretty demanding on the contract negotiation side of things - but that was when he was actually employed. His bro is still here

I find it odd that he's going to what is from the Phoenix report intended to be a 3 keeper set up, one of whom is the dominant number one and one who is an excellent up and comer. Odd decision all round, firstly be Melbourne and also by Moss.
Agree. He'd get way more game time here. If Theo stays at Melbin he'll play the majority of the games and Moss will get a sore arse.

The word is that Theo is gone so disregard my comment

just read it on stuff, interesting comments from Tony though
"They are the only two we've lost who we wanted to keep," Phoenix boss Tony Pignata said.
"We had agreed terms and he [Moss] was all ready to sign but Melbourne must have come in at the last minute."
seems like Melbourne snuck in the back door and Mossy had no loyalty to the club, or didn't think we'd get him to where he wanted to be.......Queenslander 3x a year.

I think he is referring to players like El**ch, Felipe, Brownlee etc.
Do you think Tony is really going to say that Moss and Smeltz very the only two players that gave a sh*t about keeping when there are others off contract soon as well????? Even if he did think that, he is way too smart and professional to come out and say it. No way.
You guys are twisting his words into something more sinister than it is. Stop with the bullsh*t

I aint twisting anything, just took the quotes provided. I agree that he's comenting on the players that have left.....and that out of those Smeltz and Moss were the two they wanted to resign....as for the other quote their is no other way to read it, the nix had an offer on the table and were waiting for Moss to sign, Melbourne came in with a better one and Moss took it!

Not sure on Jedi, but both Brosque and Ruka have re-signed with their clubs
Where did you get that info from?

Out of that list I would consider Jonas Salley, Sasho Petrovski, Andre Gumprecht (if not injured), possibly more depending on who leaves.

speaking of....Porter. He scored in the latest FA cup match. They won 2-1. I wonder what's gonna happen.
Wouldn't it be funny if we finally got it (after 3 bloody years) and then he underperformed? Then again, wouldn't it be funny if Smeltz went to GCU became a nobody once again???

the nix management are talking about trying to get fred for a bit longer.
Phoenix owner Terry Serepisos described the signing as a coup and when asked if he would be trying to sign the player for longer replied: "Absolutely. But that's something we will talk about later.
Would be a great permenant signing but it's had to see DC United letting him go

Porter is being chased heavily by GCU so it's more likely they'll get him.

Ricki comes into the Phoenix changing room and sees a big steaming turd right in the middle of the floor
" Ok" he says " who's shiite on the ground?"......Paston puts his hand up and says " Yeah!... but I'm good in the air!!!!"
