You got a polite nod from me.

Only abuse I have had is from people I've baited about Canterbury.  Repping the it's stripey today.

Yeap, You missed Scottishbhoy (James) by about 20 seconds... Are you staying in Central Christchurch and yes your polite nod was the first of the day.

Low cloud/fog forecast again tomorrow morning, so likely some flights before mid-morning may be delayed as they were today.  Backlog was eventually cleared though, so no danger of not getting to Chch in time for kickoff if it happens again tomorrow.

Good on yer.
You may, however, be slightly disappointed by how old, greying and pathetic some of us core fans are.
I know I am.

I know, I know, its serious!

glad it's morning fog in summer

out of the mouths of heroes ..

perhaps taken out of context - but not likely - Paul Iffil's view on the chch decision

i will be so f**ked off if we don't win

and if we don't the club management will owe us Wellington fans (and true fans everywhere) an apology - in my opinion

>>How do you feel about playing at home away from home?

A bit unfortunate really - it's great to take the game to other parts of New Zealand, but the timing is pretty poor. If this game was at Westpac [in Wellington] you could almost guarantee we would not get beaten, and after eight days away it would be nice to get back to our normal routines. <<

a commercial -short term benefit - will be f**k all use if we miss the playoffs  (or 4th place) because of this and our other Mickey-mouse home (= ring of dirt) match

Love his (Ifill's)  honesty - no bullsh*t or inarticulate dribble, just good old fashioned straight talking.

Very complementary of some of his  colleagues;

".... if Costa Barbarouses and Marco Rojas had gone to England when they were 14 or 15 they would be on the books of a Premier League team. Both have got things you can't coach, especially speed. "

"Jon McKain and Andrew Durante could easily play in the English Championship division - they are two of the best centre halves I've played with and very comfortable on the ball."

I'm getting the feeling he is getting a bit frustrated with the performances of some of his other colleagues (he's holding the ball and trying to do more himself than he was earlier in the season and, during the game, he just looks f**ked off (including with himself) more than I remember earlier in the season.

I really hope we recruit a couple of Ifill standard (AM & striker) players in the off season - I think Ifill would go up another couple of gears with a couple of better players around him - I know salary cap.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

yeh, i know it might make 'marketing' sense but i 'm worried about the effect on our performance particularly in the context of two away defeats .. I'm betting most players and coaches would go for a home match rather than a noisy but semi-neutral venue

and also  yep, if I'm honest i'm not keen to leave my family for the weekend to watch a 'home' game

On the eve of a massive football match in Chch, can we please put aside the 'I wish they weren't playing there' comments and concentrate on the game.  ie: I hope Lochhead will complete a pass.

We have had 6 months to deal with the game's location, it's time to move on.  In saying that, I woulda thought some of the organisation behind the scenes would have been a bit more onto it considering we've known about it for ages!

Matey, awwwww, stop making excuses.
Even if the game was played in Timbuktu, its still 11 against 11 with a round ball on the same field.
Any team that is worth being champion needs to win away, Perth and Melbourne being two recent examples of that not happening. If they don't win against the Adelaide inbreds, where ever the games played,  we don't deserve even 6th. Stop ya whinging and get into the game ffs.

If there were cheaper transport options around I might be down there, walking round in the square, avoiding the harris brothers and joining random japanese tour groups to get into various places (the nix gear might be a bit of a giveaway).

Well there aren't (cheap tickets went months ago) so I'm not, and I'll be watching on iraqgoals AGAIN.

So yes. "I wish they weren't playing down there."

Waaahhh! Waaaahhh!
