Are there fast track options in NZ???

Don't we offer residency to people who can fill high need jobs which our labour market can't provide, in which case surely this counts : )

Someone needs to call the ministry.

Wonder what his visa status is. He could be a NZ resident. It's a relativly quick process, 6-12 month. But to be become a citizen you have to be five year a resident (to my knowledge). Question, is a resident an import spot? Plan B, the Nix can't fill the import spot and Ernie give's him a go.

He needs to contact Auckland Phoenix.

How come Daniel wasn't classed as an import after only 3 years? Always baffled me.

I like how on the Sydney FC forum they're playing down the loss because they were playing a 'bunch of trialists' in the 2nd half. Do they no realise that we had all our All Whites out and we were playing trialists as well?

I would tell them this but it seems like my account doesn't work on there anymore.

Well if that's a case then Ifill is not longer classed as an import. I know that's not the case. I'm sure if has to be 5 years.

Phoenix came into it is Season 3 and we are at Season 10. He left at the end of Season 8 and played 1 year as non restricted so that would make it 5 years.

That doesn't sound right. Residency, maybe?

4th question in citizenship calculator  Do you have residence status through Immigration New Zealand?

With Daniel, I think the ruling changed after him - or he had some special circumstance. I can't remember exactly but was less than 5 years I'm pretty sure.

Its 5 years for FIFA, regardless of what laws exist in what countries. Durante has waited 5, so did Daniel.

Daniel was eligible early(ish) 2012, Durante early 2013.

He was granted it early, so he could play for the All Whites at the World Cup but then FIFA changed the rules and introduced the 5 years rule.

You're getting a little ahead of yourself there JV. There's only been 8 seasons so far, so we are comming up to season 9.

To play devils advocate that doesn't mean that our first 11 versus their first 11 results in a 3 nil win to us, Del Piero didn't play for instance.
That said it is a very promising result. Remember Brisbane won't be playing half their kids when we play them with a similar side.

Goals from the Sydney game...

1st goal - no idea what is going on.  I am just going to assume that Cunny beat all of their players and then smashed in a bicycle kick from the half way line.

2nd and 3rd goals - good to see us pressing high up the pitch to win the ball.  Positive signs.

Yeah I thought that was Watson. On the basis of 30sec of highlights from a meaningless pre-season friendly, sign him up! And Chris James too!
