I guess there won't be an open day again this season?

Quite disappointed with the lack of marketing.  I'm hoping that once the AW contingent of the Nix is back they can get the team out and about.

Yeah it has been quiet on that front. I was hoping that they were waiting until announcing the "new star striker" before doing a big membership push, but both of those hopes seem to be misplaced *sigh*

Well you could be right, Clemenger may have actually believed there was a big name coming and based a prospective campaign around that possibility. Egg on their face if so.

 Maybe this is the marketing....

Hi everyone,

I may have placed this in the wrong part of this forum if so feel free to move it or suggest where it should be.

My name is Jesse, im a student at UCOL enrolled in the BAVI program (a major in photography).  One of my main assignments at the moment is an in depth research project that sets out to create the best possible photographic product to advertise the Wellington Phoenix as by Clemenger BBDO.

So far all the research I have completed has pointed to the fact that yellow fever is the heart and soul of the Wellington Phoenix. For this reason I would love to get your input!

I have set up a really quick (5 question) survey that I hope you wouldn’t mind filling out for me. You can find it here

If you have any questions feel free to ask here, contact me by email  or contact my supervisor by emai. You can also visit my webpage  if you would like to see the sort of work I create.

Thanks for your time!

There's many 'Become our Latest Signing' posters up around the Vic Kelburn campus, and a bunch of two sided flyers with all the information on them. Seems like they are just starting the campaign now.

They need to try get more advertising going on outside of the city. Thousands of fans travel from the hutt/pram/pori for these games but i cant say ive ever seen so much as a single piece of signage anywhere out these ways

Probably gets stolen within minutes of going up....

The Wendys in Coastlands has a number of posters up promoting it.

Having said that we are happy to put a sign up early on the house. We normally put up the "GO NIX" at the beginning of the season, but if we get a nice new shinny sign we'll put it up :-)

I heard a radio ad on Classic Hits this morning.

Just missed Brahms: Variation on a theme by Haydn Op 56a
and
Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No 1 in Bb minor Op 23
Definitely no mention of football though

I like it when the Concert Programme plays the "Whoah, whoah" song by Dario Rimsky-Korsakoff G, on their 30 mins ad free, no-repeat Wednesdays.

Any mention of the membership packs?

No - they are just waiting on a letter from the club so I assume there will be details in the letter about collecting all the trinkets.

Was thinking about getting a flexi six pack membership for someone who won't make it to all the games.

How do they work exactly? You don't have to pick the games in advance do you because that's not very Flexi.

Well i never intended all this madness, NEVER! And all i ever wanted was to bring them something great, why does nothing ever turn out like it should?!

Unfortunately you have to pick at the time you buy them.  I understand this is because the ticketek system can only handle it this way.

Bummer. Can you change/exchange the games later? Should have called it the rigid six pack membership.

i suspect not, but perhaps you can ask. unfortuantely it's a ticktek issue.

I heard Piney on CoastFM tonight telling all Wellingtonians to sign up.

I know right? Significantly reduces the value of that option imo.

I think it is because Ticketek needs to know which seats they can and can't sell for upcoming games. It's frustrating, but the club can't do anything about it. I know a few people that have bought them, so even if it's not a perfect deal for everyone, it's worth offering as it get's more people signed up to a membership.

Surely they can come up with a system where you can walk up to the stadium on the day, hand over your flexi, they scan it (to deduct 1 game) then present you with a match day ticket. Wouldnt be that hard at all

Now now AJ13 we are talking complicated issues here, far to hard to provide simple solutions.

That's what the Phoenix wanted.  Apparently not possible.

I think there is a simple solution to this...we've never got close to fill the entire 32000 seat stadium in regular season, so they just need to allocate a dedicated area only for Flexi 6 pack members, seats reserved.  When you buy a flexi 6 pack, Ticketek books out a particular seat for all home games, but only give you 6 tickets.  So everytime you scan your ticket you get that seat, that seat is not for sale even if you don't turn up...

But you still need to determine which of those 6 tickets are used for each game.

If there was a way with their system, I'm sure they would have found it.

Or  - no seat is allocated, but the tickets can be picked up individually throughout the season like any other ticket - just that they have 6 ticket vouchers. Could use at stadium on gameday when buying a ticket - or 3 weeks before the game.
