Thanks for the pod, boys. Quality as usual.

In regards to a Melbourne and Sydney team that will probably get chosen, it won't be South Melbourne. The Melbourne clubs are already "split" either side of the Yarra River, or so they say so you'll be screwing with Melbourne City's fanbase (as Victory have a big enough fanbase).

Also, South are still too Greek-central. Their fans are all ethnic and why would the FFA want that when the RBB can still be unruly? Because South's fans will be, they're stuck in the NSL days.

The bigger problem than "effnik" (which I don't think will play into this as much as it did back upon the formation of the A-League) is that SMFC have no money. They're already having trouble signing their usual NPL players because there is no cash.

So basically none of the expansion bids are any good and anyone who wants to kick us out of the league is an idiot?

Does anyone know why Gallop hates Kiwis with a passion? He was like that towards the Warriors too.

Very good pod, well balanced and I liked how you went to pains to point out when you were hypothesising rather then quoting what Morrison said.

Great pod guys. I really don't think the message could be made any clearer and I strongly urge anyone on here actually takes the time to listen to this particular episode.

The pod actually points out that he doesn't, with good reasoning for what he says.

Well done guys, you explained very well why Rob chose to talk to YF, but well done on being able to step back from it and put your own slant on the ideas.

Boys and girls, thank you for doing the pod. I'm sure time is not easy to find. After hearing this, I trust that Rob, and particularly you gentlemen are telling the truth and that the truth is completely on our side. I understand Rob's dislike of the media and would feel the same, but I think the crux of the matter is that Rob thinks that he has clearly explained the position in that press release. Unfortunately, I think that this is an area where he may need some help, and one of you gentlemen could perhaps get a part time job. For example, the blog that was put out was million times more clear than that press release. Rob suffers from a problem, which many people at higher level of business do, I think, where they basically speak in riddles, but think they could not be clearer. And, by the way, excellent analysis on average crowd numbers. Also, Patrick, cheer up, son.

I'd just like to point out I'm not Fever Elite, I'm just a common man (RIP Dusty Rhodes).  But I had Quiche Lorraine, salad and a Hot Chocolate

I don't think anyone should be left with the impression he is a likable guy but I also think his career is largely made of of doing the bidding off those above him who are too afraid to take the heat for their decisions and actions.

It takes a certain kind of person willing to always be the villain publically. He is that type of person. But also can be quite reasonable and down to earth in person.

I really hope  there will be a mince and cheese pie and a beer in there somewhere

Hell if Rob had that instead of a quiche and water, then he truely is a man of the people and then all is forgiven

A foreign word no-one knows how to pronounce properly! Now the Phoenix Elite are just rubbing it in our faces.

I bet the 'water' they had was Antipodes too!

just catching up on this pod now. Not sure what the point of it is so far? More podcastee opinions vigorously defending Nix actions.

I don't think, they are 'vigorously' defending Nix's actions. They certainly sympathise with Morrison & the Welnix.

Maybe it's just got to the point now where you are prejudiced against Welnix, and don't want to believe anything they say?

We can all be guilty of that to a degree.

For me it's NZ trade union leaders, wearing cardigans & speaking with heavy Northern English/Scottish accents. They may deliver the most compelling, eloquent agruments - but I'm not listening. I just want to snot them on the noise, when I hear them open their mouths. Too many memories of them striking at the drop of a hat in 1980's. Thankfully they have almost disappeared. That's one of my prejudices.

I'm sure there are Phoenix City listeners who don't visit these forums but would be interested in this meeting and what was said too.

Heaven forbid the unofficial supporters group actually supports the team in any way.

so one of the new facts to come out of this is that they entertain(ed) the idea of giving games to SWS - and no one raises that as being not an ideal scenario for Wgtn based fans? unbelievable. Clearly the GP tent protest/piss-up was in vain.

What is the point of the podcast at all? There isn't really one. I still don't know why we bother doing it.

SWS would have had to pay for those 2-3 games, which would replace the games that are taken to Auckland or elsewhere in NZ now anyway. So an injection of much needed cash for Welnix.

Also possibility as podcast mentions, of larger than normal 'home' crowds at any games hosted by SWS - so giving the home crowd attendance FFA metric a boost. All worth it if helped keep a A League team in Wellington.

Anyway deal didn't happen.

it was clearly raised a replacing the current home away from home games as a marketing ploy which would benefit both the SWS bid for expansion and our metrics. If we played a home game over there and got 30,000 fans a couple of times I'd be all for it. Certainly better than an Auckland game achieving sweet FA.

I don't understand how you've misunderstood what Rob via the pod team has said. My take, and from what I can tell most of us here, saw it as an offer from an expansion hopeful to use us as a springboard to prove that taking a team south would be a good idea. Using home games that we already take away - seems to me that Rob has clearly stated that Welnix is not selling 100% of the club - they might accept some new investors up to 49% ownership but nothing more.

a fair chunk of fans want to see games in Wellington and not elsewhere (short memory if you don't agree to that).

SWS offer to take a percentage stake in Welnix in return for the Phoenix playing games in Campbeltown. We deliberate it to whatever degree - but the intent is there otherwise we wouldn't have gone to the extent of having a meeting that caused an absolute shark storm.

Are the same fans who complained before going to agree or disagree with us taking games across the Tasman if that is a direction we are considering? Fans have different views on this - and good luck of your getting a crowd of 30k. Would it be good to know the Nix's position, or we all so concerned about this mythical sale that we don't care about actual things that matter (like having players :) )

That's true Fev. A lot of fans I bump into from around Upper Hutt are not happy with the games going to around this country. If they went to Aussie it would be the very final straw. I hope the games stay here.

This is the Wellington Phoenix and a point I have stressed before is to keep every game here now with thebrand name firmly established. But it takes two to party and fans need to bite the bullett and show up to every game here to make the point.

It's a fair chestnut.  If you had to pick between the 2, what would you choose?  Because it's possible that's a real question.

They're not shopping home away from home games for nothing.

But the reality is if fans don't want games going elsewhere then fans need to turn up when they're here.  And not just the few of is that show up no matter how shark we are.
