It’s a long listen at 2 hours 40 mins. I’ve only mostly skimmed through it, trying to find the bit about Huddo.

James’s time at Colorado Switchbacks, and getting KOed by his Korean team mate in the changing room is a particular interesting yarn!

I like the bit where he confirms he's a knut from the U20 squad and coaching staff saying so.

So how much do you donate to this voluntary organisation again?

Thanks for your concern Roy. We've had very little to talk about, and scheduling has been difficult because of social activities starting up again when we hit Level 2. Most likely we're going to get something out on our Patreon this week to say thanks to our Patrons for sticking with us when it was hard to create content over lockdown.

Rob Morrison, chairman of Wellington Phoenix FC, joins the pod this week as the crew headed down to The Churchill for the Phoenix members night. We talk about the resumption of the A-League, the current and future broadcast situation of the league, and the challenges of running a football club during Level 4 lockdown.

love the idea of revenue sharing - cant imagine any of the Sydney or Melbourne teams wanting to be that generous. Doesn't the FFA take all the finals income anyway?

HeartthRob that's a goodie.

Unlikely with that monotone.

But good man and nice to have him on.

Yes, always interesting to hear from Rob Morrison.

One correction to the discussion near the end of the pod though - the two women who travelled to Wgtn and then tested positive did not have 300-odd 'close contacts'. Their only 'close contact' was their father who they went to see. The 300-400 being tested (out of an abundance of caution given the need to restore public confidence) were not even 'possible close contacts', but merely 'possible contacts'.

The extent to which the story has been beaten up out of proportion by the misleading use of language has been more damaging to the economy etc than the story itself.

Robs best candid night was a December fan night at The Grand. He had a round of Christmas functions before arriving to give a 100% off the cuff how he saw the future of the Nix. He was at this time working very have on a licence issue with the other owners and the FFA. It was scary but 100% justified. He is in for the long hall with the other owners. it seems a little dirty to say this on this thread, but between two beers is one good dam podcast.

Just a warning if you listen to it while in bed and you fall asleep it loops through all the podcasts, so you wake up at 4pm, hearing another.

Not dirty at all! Between Two Beers is absolutely excellent, there are some great yarns on there that I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to

Yep, saw the Chris James one on twitter, went to download it, and ended up downloading the entire back catalogue.  Looks like some great interviews, really looking forward to diving in to it.  I enjoy longform interviews that have time to meander wherever the conversation takes itself, so this should be great.

Exactly what i did too, listened to one, the one with Declan Edge and then have pretty much listened to them all since then. Quality interviewers and quality yarns...

I'd prefer they stick to football actually but see they are broadening their horizons a bit...

Yea I like it I just wish they would sort their audio levels, I was hoping it would get better but you still get bursting loud bits (intro etc.) then super quiet bits.
Great yarns though

Agree with that, Priscilla Duncan was inaudible often during the most recent one

The A-League looks to resume next week, but has the current COVID situation in Victoria and a failed mad dash to the border thrown a spanner in the works? The pod look at the remainder of the season as a whole, and discuss the Nix's chances of moving even further up the table.

The Phoenix pick up a win and a draw in matches against Perth and Adelaide, but could Ufuk have earned all three points if he didn't rotate the squad against Adelaide? The schedule settles down a little bit for the Phoenix now, as we look ahead to the next match against WSW.

The Phoenix stutter against WSW with some interesting refereeing decisions, but a quick turnaround before the next match against Brisbane gives the team a chance to bounce back. Tony Readings steps aside, leaving the Men's U20 coaching role vacant - will we see a familiar face return?

(Sadly?) They do talk about Readings on the pod, so it's just a blurb error.
