I don't think we have been that bad tonight, but in general it amazes me how different results away from home are compared to at home. This goes both ways obviously (I think we look better at home than we are, and worse away from home than we are), and goes all the way back to the Knights and Kingz. I just don't get it, sitting in a plane to Australia and watching a movie and listening to music for a few hours is really not that tiring or hard work!

Anyway, we are still well in this match despite been 1-0 down, we are looking like we can score.

Good little spell here. Seemed to have calmed back down after the goal. Heres hoping for a good second half.

Yep looking forward to 2nd half we are only one bit of magic away from taking a point away from Hindmarsh which I'd take any day of the week.

I'm convinced its part mentality and partially more cautious tactics (which then rub off on the players, who play more cautiously). Ricki is very open about the fact that he is more cautious away from home, than at home. Makes it a pretty fair conclusion to draw, or at least worth trying something different by trying to play an away game like you would a home game.

I reckon its the climate. You get off the plane, you train, and you play in different weather conditions. Its over 30 degrees there tonight. Hence why other teams cant perform at their best when they come here. I reckon the Warriors get off easy as its winterish weather when they play, and the Breakers play indoors so arent subject to the same conditions either.

Its been very like all the away games this season. Dominated periods of play and had a few great chances, but find ourselves chasing the game.

What makes it worse, which makes us negative, is that we are so close to actually being really really good......if it wasn't for these strange decisions by Mr Herbert.

We always make Djite look like a good player

Brown has been extremely poor but the biggest problem is Leo, Daniel and Lochy do not put in the effort to try and get past the full backs so we get crosses from too far back.valeo2011-12-30 22:57:15

To dominate away from home you need to control possession, we never ever do that which is why we give up so many opportunities away from home.  Even in the games away from home that we get points out of we do concede a lot of chances - we just generally play in a poor fashion in Australia

Looking at the highlights, did Boogaard collect Daniel?

Wish Brown tucked that one away from the free kick.

I thought the same. Was surprised at the lack of appeal for a penalty. Am thinking maybe the camera angle just made it look bad?

We seem to always have trouble with Djite, Brosque and van Dyke - no matter who they play for. Now we're up against two of them on the same team.

And I don't get the crossing from so far back either, we are so much better running to the byline and playing it backwards across goal. No-one really does seem to want to put in the effort.

Also on Smith, has it been discussed why wasn't on the plane? Could it be because we have a high-profile foreigner ready to join the ranks in two days time?

We played well enough that half. Should have had a penalty (Daniel), hit the post, some good crosses in.

Reckon that if we had Ifill up there instead of Greenie, we would be in front.
2nd will be hard, hot, they can shut it down and try and counter.

I find the "we are playing negative" comments a bit strange. Most play in their half, shots on goal pretty even. There's quite a few neat constructive passing movements (as opposed to route 1).

The real challenge is keeping the faith (in playing positively), when losing away ... yet again. Must feel like ground-hog day.

I know, I know, its serious!

why does Greenie always pass backwards and not turn and pass forward?
