Argh - better play but we finally had 3 players in the box and we didn't cross it

So frustrating. We just f**k around with the ball and then hoof it up or do a little chip that goes straight to Sydney

Hearfield doing well to get up but has he beat the first man with a cross yet?

We're defending well but every attack starts with Lochy or Hearfield trying to chip it up to Leo/Ifill and Greenie and most of the time we lose it. Kind of painfulvaleo2010-09-11 20:04:56

We should be using the middle of the park more and pass through sydney a little bit, not hoof it aimlessly.

Ifil and greeny also need to come to the ball and not make only forward runs... makes it harder on the flanks to do anything but knowck it sometimes.

No wonder there is stuiff all people there..not good to watch.  Bereft of talent to unlock a defence.  Need Daniel I think for Ifill..and how to get Pav on.  I long for Smeltzs runs into the box with ball at feet...Greenacre just doesnt do it for me as a player.  Layoffs and maybe the odd poached goal.  Need another striker....and not one that is 6 foot plus.  0-0 written all over it.

Looks to me like they are targeting the Sydney left back, lots of early long balls in behind him

We're playing better than Sydney but that is not saying much.

Dura looks like he'll need to go off and we have no defensive cover..

Just need a goal to give us some confidence. de Jong said it right - "both teams playing not to lose at the moment"

Then who will play DM? Daniel on and Brown drops back? He's the only one getting in the box.valeo2010-09-11 20:11:38

Ward looks like he is playing at the base of the midfield just in front of the back 4

Our choices are limited with Pav and Big Mac both on teh bench..madness.  Daniel is going to have to run his socks off.

I would be more inclined to think more about how we can attack more. Someone said both sides look like they are trying not to lose. Its our home game, go for it I say

Ward's doing OK, quite promising. I like that 3 man midfield - they're all doing solid work but apart from Ifill we're still a bit toothless up front.

Manny is unless they both are. Ward has been a lot further forward.

The problem with the 3 man mid field is the trade off with not having another striker up front

Means Brown can get forward more though...

I'd like to see more of Pavlovic. He's raw but he's aggressive, runs at defences and wants to make things happen. Greenacre, Leo and Brown are just not going to frighten any defence.

HUH?? 3 man midfield, 4 man defense so that leaves 3 forward??. We have both Bertos and Ifil getting well forward with Greenacre

No, Leo and Ifill have been hugging the touchline leaving Greenie isolated up front

What game are you watching?? Count the players in the box when either Ifil or Berots or Hearfield or Lockhead have delivered crosses
