Was - Phoenix Transfer Speculation (Part 1)
he was available for 10 weeks. Not sure if the possibility of signing for full season was ever discussed. he would have challenges on domestic front, but who knows what couldnt be sorted out if the will was there on both parts.

Elliotttt, who has 78 caps, is still looking for a club after Ricki Herbert and the Wellington Phoenix turned him down for a short-term contract.ScoobyD2010-10-12 09:12:43
What a waste Elliottt kicking his heels not playing while the nix midfield doesn't have anyone capable of even kicking heels.
He might be a short term solution but surely that is better than a long term problem which is a midfield lacking anyone who can control a game and pass the ball positively.

I think most people said that..
It was pretty obviously a rushed signing.
Lets be honest - our off-season recruitment was extremely disappointing, really, and has contributed to a slow start. Still think we can start gaining some momentum - just need to get that first away win. Don't think changing the formation will help though.valeo2010-10-16 19:02:43

Agreed, but if we had signed Nick Ward and Danny Vukovic, even Jade North in the "offseason" it would've been a much different story.
Caceres > Toto. If Toto was going to be that crap in the beginning I would've rather kept hold of a kiwi, or signed Peverley or Clapham, granted they got game time even if it was for the reserves.
If only we could transplant Elliotttt's brain into Tim Brown's head.

Do it!! Just sign him. He has the kind of ball distribution and vision that few in the A-League have and he could really create chances for us (Hopefully we would capitalise more often than AW's).
A football brain transplant clinic... Brilliant! Maybe Riki should look into signing a brain surgeon next season.

Well he isnt going to get a contract in the MLS for this season. Its almost over now. And if he doesnt get something before their next season begins he will really struggle to convince a manager he is not a big risk. He needs a contract soon or it will become too hard.
