dont really want mully, unless he's given a propper shot in a creative role. I think he's a known source, and we are aiming to fill those spots with quality starters. Theres no point in him coming here, then sitting on the bench.

I think him, like Clapham, are players who could fit into the side, but would be average signings compared to what the club, and supporters should be striving for.

Thats not to say I think both should be looked at carefully, just no pint in signing midfielders as cover, unless they are young in my opinion, may as well try sign guys who will be in our starting 11, and any cover as youth guys like chettleburgh who have the ability to grow

I'll drink to that

To put that in perspective, he is a year and a half younger than Mark Schwarzer.

Jenny Bindon is 38 and still #1 keeper for the Football Ferns.

Still, at that age surely just a back-up/goalkeeping coach?

Question: If half of Greenie's wages move outside the salary cap because he is a player/coach, what about his import slot? Is that halved also? For instance, if he and this Warner chap were both player/coaches would they be taking up two import slots or just one?

He looks bad-ass. Is he monster sized like Paston?

A good experienced keeper at the back is a great signing in my opinion.

In the absence of a decent youth/reserve set-up it does make more sense to have a grizzled old pro warm the bench than some young fella. And if he's good enough to start even better.

If I can get my goal kicks to travel more than 20 metres in the air every time, then perhaps.

sounds fine to me, would like a younger guy, but seems he could do a good job. Think itd be a good move for him to move into a coaching role, maybe sign us up a young gk next season for him to mentor.
Good pedigree, and sounds decent if he made 25 appearances for tranmere this year, and was rumoured to go to blackburn!

Tony Warner.

Ex-Liverpool, Millwall, Tranmere (+ others) Goalkeeper...

Reserve Keeper/GK Coaching role?

Who's your Grandadi then?

Pretty solid keeper. Was only kept out of Liverpools starting XI in the 1990's by David "Calamity" James!

Good Asset to have in my opinion.

According to Wikipedia he was almost going to Blackburn this year, so he can't be all that clapped out.

When we sign an attacking midfielder, will they be a midfield coach?

Good pedigree.

If you have a player on your roster who is an import then he takes up an import slot.

So Greenie doesn't count as half an import.

His name did come up as a target, tho people were unsure if it was to be a youth coach or 3rd choice keeper.

Spuriously enough , on the same page as C Diddy quotes, is a link with this info from Sky Sports. Seems a interesting prospect if it is true he is looking this way.

"Skysports.com understands Blackburn are closing in on a deal for former Liverpool and Fulham goalkeeper Tony Warner.

Warner is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Tranmere and Blackburn are ready to offer him a surprise return to the Premier League.

Rovers are in the market for goalkeeping reinforcements after seeing Frankie Fielding join Derby and Jason Brown leave after his contract expired.

Ewood Park boss Steve Kean knows all about Warner having worked with him during his time at Fulham as assistant to Chris Coleman at Craven Cottage.

Kean is ready to add Warner to his squad as his No.3 keeper to provide cover for Paul Robinson and Mark Bunn.

A very reliable source told me that we have couple of players coming from Europe next week or so. A goalkeeper (could very easily be Warner) and someone from Portugal. I am guessing the portugese will be an attacking midfielder. ALso, Mehmet deal thing is a bit shaky.

Heard from very good source that Mark Paston has been crook with guardia or something caught while visiting Mexico. Don't know the relevance of this in this conversation - but there you are....

Parasites can be a hidden factor and a few parasitic and giardia symptoms can include:

diarrhea
gastrointestinal upset
vaginal irritation
joint and muscle aches
brain or nervous system damage
immune dysfunction
chronic fatigue

Maybe we should sign Dr Warner from Shortie and not Tony Warner C-Diddy2011-08-16 16:39:25
