Sure, you can swap seats, but if they're checking tickets in, say, aisle 14 and we all go to sit there, will they let me in when my friends have tickets for there but I don't?

i think no, if you are a season pass holder and want to sit with people who do not have tickets in the same aisle as you then they need to have tickets in the g.a section and you can use your season pass to go and sit in their. i may be misreading that but that seems to me to be how it will work.

Seems a bit pedantic to me to stop people going and sitting in empty seats in empty parts of the stadium but those are obviously the directions from on high.

Family and I went to 9 of 10 home games last season but never got around to getting a season ticket - wasn't worth it by the time we figured out we would be regulars.

Eagerly waited for today to arrive so I could get my 5 season tickets. Rang the season ticketing number, credit card in hand. I know the seats I want and was all set to order them.

Can you believe that you can't pick your seats - the lame excuse was because they haven't allocated all the seats to members yet. It's fine that renewing members have first call on seats but that process should have been sorted and completed before the seats went on sale to the public.

It's bullsh*t to expect someone to spend a $1,000 on  season tickets and not be able to choose their seats.

Pissed off - you bet !

To be fair I can believe that, and no offense, but I feel pleasantly reassured by this, but not in a nasty way (and I'm sure other renewing members who are changing seats do as well).

I'm a renewing member, but as I have recruited another five people, I'm not renewing the same seat. As a result I have to wait until all the renewing members who are renewing the same seat have done so (they had up until Friday just gone to do so I think) before Ticketek allocate seats to renewing members changing seats - which is fair and logical as they don't entirely know what seats are available until this. Initially I was worried that we wouldn't have "preferential seat choosing" so I am pleasantly surprised by this. Although in saying this, my opinions may change if I don't hear from Ticketek in the near future...

Carol,
That's all fine and as it should be - renewing members taking priority.

My point is don't release tickets to the public until renewing members have been sorted and you know what seats are and aren't available.

I will not be buying my season tickets until I can choose my seats.

Tony,
       When will that be ?

Hmm, think you've got a point W_b, if the renewing members moving seat aren't able to pick their new allocation, until the renewal period was over, there should be a 2-3 period exclusively for reallocting the renewing members before the public sale.

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Agreed eejit, it would certainly give the appearance of being organised rather than telling moving members and new members that they have to wait until the seats are allocated. Its not a major thing though, just a little messy, the telling sign will be how long it takes to get the tickets to everyone.

Actually I think it is potentially a major issue - it could put off a lot of new members.

There will be a lot of potential new members who went to a few games last year, got the fever, and want a season ticket. Like me they will know where they want to sit.

The'll call to buy their season tickets to be told to hand over their money with no guarentee where they will be seated.

The least that should be done is for potential members who want to choose their seats to be told that you will be able to chose your seats on such and such a date. They then have the option of booking then and there and taking their chances on the seat allocated or calling back in xxx days and chosing their seats.

Surely it's not that bloody difficult.

next time, tiketek should learn from this (as they failed to anticipate it!) and build the 'extra' renewers into the process

in the meantime, surely the club would be talking to ticketek to sort this out - so that as few potential members as possible are lost due to frustration

your right it shouldn't be that dificult, although no money by providing c/c details no money changes hands until the tickets are actually confirmed.

That's assuming Tickitek:
a) CAN learn from their mistakes, and/or
b) WANT TO learn from their mistakes.

Ticketmaster? No thanks - I've found them to be worse.

Why are existing members still waiting to choose their new seats? I changed and booked my season ticket on 9 June. After initially being told I had to wait, I queried that. They called me back later the same day and was given my new seat numbers there and then, as the lady was able to see which ones were not already held by members.

I think it comes down to whether you spoke to the Phoenix Ticketek people or whether you managed to call at a busy time and got diverted to the normal Ticketek people. The latter had not been trained on the Phoenix system by the sound of things, whereas the former were knowledgeable and helpful.

Not going to discount your experience at all, but I thought I'd share mine.

I'm a Hurricanes season pass holder. I bought mine shortly before the season started. They called me up, with no prompting on my part, to assure me that my pass was being sent out ASAP, however if it had not arrived I would be able to pick up a temporary pass from the reserved tickets booth (which meant no queueing). Got my temp pass for the first game, my real stuff arrived shortly after. Wellington Rugby have managed to successfully keep in contact with me every step of the season, alerting me to every deal available, providing information on presale rights for the All Blacks matches ASAP. I think that's excellent service, albeit for an inferior product.

Ticketek took a rather long time to get back to me when I first signed up for a Phoenix season pass - though they eventually did get in sorted in time for the first match. They lost my details and I never received any correspondance from the club, hence did not get to vote for my pick of player of the year, albeit a small deal but still an incentive that I paid for. This was the result of a Ticketek database screwup, as the club informed me (and apologised for).  Ticketek staff have constantly put down the Phoenix when myself and others have gone to buy tickets, and for the Beckham match, I was surrounded be people Ticketek failed to warn that they were in the standing section, causing a lot of ill will. And now this.

From my experience, Ticketek is the greater of two evils. They're an incompetant organisation who can't, or simply won't, do their job properly. They do not take the Phoenix seriously, and that's the last thing we need in a ticketing agency.

Heck, I wouldn't even complain if Terry followed the lead of Eugene Melnyk when he bought the Ottawa Senators NHL (ice hockey) team a few years ago - he set up his OWN ticketing agency in order to ensure his fans got the service they deserves. Hmm... Century City Ticketing?

it will be interesting to  compare the size of this year's "what the f**k are ticketek up to now" thread with last year's one  (which, from memory was quite extensive )

I'm in a similar situation except I'm up for 4 tickets, instead of 5. (Even a Spurs supporter too -- what're the odds?)

However, they did allow me to state a preference for some seats today but warned that I might not get them. I assume they did the same for you? I'm not happy but it's better than nothing.

It's just as well I spent 10 minutes after the last game of the last season looking at some seats I liked the look of and noted down details. And just as well I had a back up preference because my first preference had sold out already by today.

I've got my fingers crossed no one liked the look of my second preference seats...

Do they normally call to confirm seats?

I was told today that I'll know my seats have been allocated when they hammer my VISA card!

I wouldn't wait prof and would keep ringing them... otherwise you may miss out on the seats you want, especially as it seems everyone's getting a different story.... (bitter experience last year )

Diary of a supporter trying to buy 5 season tickets - Day 2

Day 1 - After the blood pressure eased after the first failed attempt to buy 5 season tickets in my preferred seats I did place an order for 5 tickets and advised my seating preference.

Day 2 - Thought I'd call to check progress - found that some genius had removed the Phoenix ticketing phone number from the Nix website so rumaged around and found a flyer I was given yesterday with the phone number. Called and a pleasant young lady answered the phone - when I gave my membership number and asked if my preferred seats were confirmed I was asked "did you have preferred seats ?" The initial fear of getting seats miles from my preferred location passed when she confirmed she did in fact have my preferences recorded. I was then advised seats would be confirmed end of this week or start of next week.

Credit card not yet charged.

As always Football mum's on the money.

Think about the prospective new Nix members who don't know about this website. They jump on the Nix or Ticketek website keen to buy a season ticket and even before they have to go through the stupid system that doesn't allow you to chose your seats on line they have to navigate the challenge of even finding the phone number to call.

Seems to me we are making it unneccessarily difficult for new members to join.

The Feverzone is from Aisle 22-20.  22-21 was always the zone last year, if you were in the zone you are still in the zone.  Now it expands another aisle to the South end.

Was trying to find out how much a single match day ticket will be and came across this seating plan.

They are now selling tickets for 3/4 of the stadium instead of 1/2.  They must be expecting alot more supporters this year

Me and about 5 of my mates are planning to get season membership this year(first timers). Is there a way we can sit together yet pay seperately or do we have to lump the sum onto one persons visa?
I'm guessing the phone option only allows a lump payment but it sounds like the best.

All on the one credit card seems to be the only option.

Depending on how reliable your mates are you may want to see the colour of their money before you buy the tickets...

Or maybe they had complaints from people with sun in their eyes?

Whatever my Phoenix baseball cap cost me it was a bloody great investment and well paid off during many a first half last year!

You can put in a request to sit next to your mates. I'm sure they will oblige. I have done this, and will wait to see if we end up next to each other. I don't see why not.
