Did the picture quality thing revert back to "best available" after the update?
Not sure what you mean? The iPad app has no bitrate options anywhere, you can't change, so i guess it's always 'Best Available'

I hope you're emailing them the same feedback... would be interesting to hear what response you get.
NBA League Pass has launched for the upcoming season. pretty steep price compared to MLB.tv, NHL Gamecenter and NFL Game Pass. if purchased through the iPhone app it's either $279.99 or $319.99 for premium (which includes vault access, home and away feeds, plus the playoffs) so I assume the playoffs is not included in the standard one, which is how it's been in past where playoffs were a separate purchase.
I am hearing that a survey is going around from PLP . Something to do with service and if you are happy and what to improve on.

bugger that. Do they have monthly options?
Not through the app. on the website they do. seems the non-premium does include playoffs. http://watch.nba.com/nba/subscribe seems the difference between premium and non premium is home and away broadcasts, the video vault and access to the NBA TV live channel like the NFL have.
In the states you are able to also just buy a pass for 5 teams. they used to offer just for one team.
I seem to recall it was around $170-180 last year plus you had to also buy the playoffs separately. so I think overall it's probably the same price.
If you have hola unblocker you can change the country and get lower prices. not sure if it'd stay the same when you pay though.
edit: looks like india is the cheapest. $139/$99. promo code for premium NBALP152013 gets 15% off. for normal is NBALP102013 that is 10% off. using a proxy seems to work http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116230
A month is basically 10% of a season pass. Which is weird because that makes it cheaper to go for a monthly pass all 8 months of the season, rather than purchasing a season pass which costs as much as 10 months?

Yeah and would include all the preseason stuff too.
You do have to be careful to remember to cancel subscriptions when you stop using them, it's caught me out once or twice.
haha that makes no sense given that those they are surveying will already have it.
Though also a good idea as it encourages people to give it to their mates to try.

This is a good idea from them. They should be surveying actual users as well though.
I got the survey yesterday as well, same as SurgeQLD joined the mailing list and intended to sign up just never got round to it and was unimpressed with the setup using 2 free day passes I received, quite a change from the Sky where I enjoyed watching the Sunderland game 2 out of 3 weeks delayed, and recorded a couple of other games each week and watched normal / x2 or x6 speed.
Also far to much buffering for my liking, could well be my connection and not the PLP side, but I've settled for watching the free 10 minute highlight package on the Sunderland website and match of the day on a Sunday morning (no buffering on either of them)
So I've told them that in the survey, received my free daypass and will look forward to giving it a bash in the next round, in the hope its improved and might tempt me tho judging by the comments I'm not hopeful, it seems very inconsistent.
Proudly "fed up of" supporting the underdog, Major trophies in my lifetime:
Sunderland = 0
England = 0
Phoenix = 0
New Zealand = 0

fill this out guys. in the first box just put in "still considering" or whatever actually. Tell them what you think !

also had the goddammit experience
as bad - and would have beebn worse if anything meaningful had happened in last minute or so - was the fact that coverage stopped in time added on
on plus side the picture quality good on ipad
my first bad experience with PLP this morn and i was freakin peeved
I missed me alarm and woke up 45mins late, but thought I'd be able to watch it delayed while the game was still going on. Only had android tablet to watch, first time on that. App downloaded fine, but issues signing in, eventually managed it, still dont know what was wrong there.
I had read on here that if you go to a game midway through, it will start at the livepoint and you need to scroll back. So i thought I was perfectly prepared, armed with that knowledge. I put me arm over the screen and muted successfulyy. Then was trying to drag the little curser back but it although i'd pull it all the way back, the timing was messed up and it wasnt working. it couldnt go back further, dont know why - is this a known issue with the android app? Or was i missing something obvious? Went into FAQ to try and see some way, but nothing there. Gave up and watched 2nd half live, then watched first half delayed after the game. Not happy.
And the quality freakin sucked more than it's ever sucky suck sucked. Blurred, stuttering, just rubbish. Every other game had been consistently good for me in that respect, until last night.
Definitely missed sky last night...

Did you watch the whole game with this quality picture?
I woke up so (belatedly) decided to use the 24hr free pass they gave me to complete the survey a few weeks back (thanks to Tom @ Coliseum for helping me with that on Twitter/email just before kickoff).
Watched on desktop, once I finally got a picture... well, yeah 1600kbps apparently. It was dismal.
Until something changes there's no way I'm paying $150 to watch that every weekend.
And I really hope something changes. Quickly.
Argh this sounds awful. Will probably have to resort to it when I'm back over Xmas.
How did you get that free 24 hour pass? Might try it...

Woke up at 6:15am to watch Spurs/Villa delayed on the iPad.
Clicked the 'Watch Live' link (not sure why 'live' as game had finished, kick off 4am NZT), only to find a screen with the message 'This Game has Ended'.
I couldn;t do anything to view it. I tried logging out, back in, turning ipad off etc etc. Spent about 30mins getting highly annoyed, and on about the 15th time of clicking the link, which had changed to 'Watch Replay' it worked.
Ended up having to 'fast-forward' through large parts of it, as i'd missed 30mins of viewing time pissing around trying to get it to work.
Quality was generally fine, some spells of pixelated image but only for 30secs at a time.
Then at about the 60mins mark, it stopped working and had a message pop up saying only one login is allowed at any one time, and it promptly signed me out. I had to then sign back in and of course the game started back at the beginning so I had to drag the progress bar and guess where 60min was.
The whole thing is just difficult.

i had great picture for this game and the newcastle game......but i did have this issue when watching a chelsea game a few weeks back
go gunners
Hmm I did that survey from the previous page but at no point does it ask for my email address. Not exactly sure where they are sending my free 24 hour pass but it certainly isn't to me lol.

Dunno, mine got emailed to me (well, the link)... I asked them on Twitter and the guy there (Tom) sorted it out for me so maybe email/tweet him and you should be sweet :-)

Did you watch the whole game with this quality picture?
Nope I turned it off and recreated the match on the coffee table using duplo, far better quality.
Lol, good call.

It's a bit of a shambles isn't it...sooner Sky get it back the better.

watched the game on sky - via arsenal tv - same HD quality as always no issues, and at a decent time of 1 pm on sunday.
Queenslander 3x a year.
who knows, but if I'd paid $150 bucks for this service I'd be spewing and demanding refunds. You can't use "the new boys" excuse when you come out as agressively as these guys did. The expectation they set was that this was going to be a better option than sky - clearly it is not.

It will be interesting to see if they offer year-one customers some kind of discount for season 2 given they clearly have had to put up with a sub-standard product.
