I've seen that Salah link as well from the little I've seen of him he seems ok.  Missed a beat on signing Costa look at him go! 21 in 21.  Almost as good as Suarez!  At least that shows the scouts and recruiting teams at the club are doing something right.  Apart from that pretty quiet, maybe with the world cup happening next year there may be some fringe players from other clubs that are in need of first team football.  Cissikho can bugger off now imo.  Getting shown how to play left back by a 20 year old right back.

Where do we need to strengthen?  A striker for sure.

Good to see Borini score this morning too, hopefully we can salvage some of the 10 mill we blew on him.

I got the feeling Costa was never actually interested in a move, and the 'negotations' with Liverpool were really just leverage for him to re-sign with his current club. Or am I getting my wires crossed and thinking of someone else?

He has a list that he thinks we should go for . I know that he thinks Salah is worth a look- he says that Rodgers has been to have a look at him personally.
I'll grab the list off him tomorrow and post a summary. From memory he has a couple of strikers , a winger and a midfielder. I'd do it now but I'm too pissed ; watching the Nix isn't helping .

Yep , pretty special. I don't know how many more Xmas's we have together so the look on his face will be absolutely priceless.

Jazz....do I want to know what worse entails?

I doubt it , Tyler ;-)

Fair enough too I say! I may even buy his shirt if he remains with us into 2015 myself. Of course, a new contract may well be a way of just upping his price, and Real clearly just dont care what they have to pay. But as of this moment, the man is on fire, so why not!

On a side note, I saw a stream of kids going to mini football at ASB the other day, and near enough every second kid had a brand new shiny Liverpool shirt on, so that has to be a good sign!!

Yeah great news and an early Christmas present! Nice to see the owners appreciate what he's worth to us now and not wait until January when the offers will start rolling in.

Important win this morning. It's these sorts of games we MUST win to have any credibility as a top 4 contender , never mind winning the thing. For years we've been competitive with the other " bigger" sides but lose games we really shouldn't . So to follow on from last week with another good win was crucial. Spurs are like Hutt girls at the moment , so didn't really count!!

HOw well did Hendo go? Again. Seems to have added creativity to an undoubted work ethic. Imagine how good he'd be if he ever learnt to run properly?

Right, well I'm off to manage in the premier league now. All I need is a know it all attitude and a drinking problem and I will be well set.

Oh well. Good game had r chances but couldn't put them away. Such a tight race for the top 4

Poor refereeing costs a team yet again. Arsenal should have got a pen, and we should have gotten a draw today. The offside wasnt even close to marginal. Poor.

Couldn't watch unfortunately but the Guardian said it was a very good game. So tight up the top of the table, a loss and we're back to fourth!

Funny old game that. Played well, had one chance outrageously ruled out by the linesman, one where Coutinho should have done better than just shoot straight at Hart, but other than that no major 'if only' moments that I can really recall.

I guess just one of those results that you're inevitably going to get a couple of over the season, and all you can do is move on. Bring on Chelsea, still feeling confident about that one!

What are the odds Suarez keeps the captaincy when Stevie returns? High, or zero? I think maybe SG might become a super sub at some stage soon.

Was the captaincy part of the new deal with LS?

So many questions, and I still havent had breakfast...

Yeah I'd say zero if Stevie is on the field.

Johnson Agger Sakho Kelly

Can see this being a low scoring affair. A win would be pretty amazing.

Zero for sure.  When agger was subbed on during the cardiff game suarez gave up the arm band as he is the vice capt.  There is a vid somewhere of Suarez getting asked about the captaincy it after the spurs match I think.  And he replied Gerrard is the captain.

Yeah I reckon that would be pretty apart from defence.....Skrtel or Sakho haven't done anything terrible to get dropped imo.  I hope flanno is fit as I really do not rate cissikho and can't see kelly coming in to play on the left.  Off to bed come on you reds!

Chelsea did a good job on us, pressed us hard in the first half and made us look very poor. Sat back a bit more in the second.  Just shows the massive difference of a current top four club and trying to get into it.  Squad depth and quality coming off the bench.  Chelsea were bringing on cole, mikel and torres.  We bought on a young lad for his prem league debut, toure and aspas.   Thought that challenge from eto had to be a pen and sakho hitting the crossbar was unlucky.  1st to fifth in the space of a couple days, reality check!
