That was a pretty entertaining thrashing of an under strength Dortmund
Liverpool Thread - Premier League Champions* 2019/20 (Part 2)
Wow you guys are pretty confident this season, will be interesting to see how that top 6-7 plays out.
Just dropping in to profess my love for a good Brendan Rodgers quote... the man really knows how to put his words together
"His [Raheem Sterling] development has gone to a new level. He's way above the level from when he first came in both tactically and technically. And what has been beautiful to watch with Raheem has been his maturity. He's turning into a beautiful young man"

Probably something Raheem needed to hear to be fair. Early on, he was painted as a a bit of a deviant with a bunch of kids to various one night stands and the odd arrest that amounted to nothing. BR seems to know how to develop confidence and maturity in the younger players - remember, he's still only 19 years old and world like that can do wonders for someone struggling to cope with still being a teenager with a pocketful of cash while the world watches them. Raheem, if he continues to develop as he has, could go on to be one of England's greatest players and certainly one of Liverpool's. In a few years time, you could bracket him with Messi, Ronaldo and Suarez.

Will there ever be early morning replays organised kopgoff?
Hey Fitzy, only when games fall outside of license hours. We'll show those at 6am. Four Kings will apply for licenses for games that land outside of licensing hours but are big games (arsenal and Utd in December I think).
That answer your question?

Yep, thanks mate really appreciate the effort you put in to this!

Is a pleasure mate, can't wait to get the buzz back on the weekend. Let the madness continue!

I have a pass out, just need to organise my life/work around it

Good to get a win albeit a bit scrappy. We have a lot more depth off the bench this year huh.
Yup, the depth looks good but two main issues:
- You cannot play Lucas and Gerrard together anymore, it just doesn't work as Gerrard has to drop and cover and as a pair, they are too slow. Can and Gerrard or Allen and Gerrard should be the starting central pairing. Always been a fan of Lucas but possibly time for him to move on.
- Johnson was terrible, didn't make a tackle from memory, gave the ball away, too many touches, ran into trouble. His one good run saw him beat Saints for pace, cut inside and get a decent cross in. This is his strength but just doesn't do this enough anymore.
In saying that, I think we should remember that BR learnt a lot from last season and his main finding? A plan 'A' and 'B' isn't enough anymore and looked like they tried plan C and D to get the win. Overall, it's a win and they will only get stronger given it was the first competitive game and hopefully there is a striker to come in still.

Johnson to QPR? Surely there will be some sales this week with the amount of players we have brought in.
I wonder Leighbo if we will see Lucas sold? I do love him and he loves the club (same as Agger), I just wonder if he is on the way out.

I think Johnson is free to leave but he needs to change his wage demands, that's what stopped QPR from snapping him up as other than that, he fits their MO perfectly.
Lucas to Napoli or Juve has been pushed around and I'd expect them both to go along with Agger. Toure will see out his contract until the end of this season I reckon but we'll only see him in Carling Cup, early FA Cup and the odd CL group stage match.
Of course, we still need a striker but I'd like to see another keeper come in.

Is Jones still hanging around?
Seems so, there's no real mention of him anywhere and he's probably a good third choice to have around and not as bad as people make out. He also seems super happy to be part of the team and training with them and being involved week in, week out. A definite team man who's living his dream whether he gets on the pitch. Again, we'll see plenty of him in the Carling Cup & FA Cup but barring an injury to Mingolet, that'll be it.

Was just reading marcotti's musings, he makes some good points about you guys;

I didn't realise, you guys only played 43 games last season, wow that is such a small amount, unbelievable really.

Yep, don't think anyone would argue that missing out on the Europa League was a blessing in disguise. Will probably be the same for Man U this season.
So the Falcao rumblings aren't going away. Nothing solid yet but definitely sounds as though Rodgers is serious about making that happen if possible. Would be a great addition!
Better option than Canvani or Levazzi (spelling on both of those dodgy I reckon) but still not convinced. I'm still hoping for Balotelli on loan - we play better when people really hate us.

Erm, who hates Balotelli? And out of Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea; I'm pretty sure I know which ones will always get the most hate.

In other news semi Liverpool related, I see that Leroy Fer has now signed for QPR. It is interesting that he fails a medical at Everton, then passes two medicals (Norwich and QPR). It does make you wonder what Liverpool saw in Remy that other clubs haven't. Would be keen to hear the details....which will never happen.

He apparently carries a heart defect which I think was the main concern

Come and join us at The Pub for breakfast from 6:30am (we will not make a habit of changing venues, this move is down to requests from attendees at the Southampton game).
I still remember the last time we played City in the league like it was yesterday. It was the Hillsborough anniversary, The Pub was proper heaving for the first time, we totally dominated the first half scoring twice, City came back and equalised only for the little magician Phil Coutinho to grab a late winner. On top of all that who could forget Stevie G's emotion and passion: https://youtu.be/1AhrugJaNkE
I did have a small ounce of sympathy for the sole City fan that turned up!
Given the change of venue we need to provide an estimate of attendees for staffing purposes. If you are on Facebook and intend on coming please confirm on the event as soon as possible. https://m.facebook.com/events/536519783159818
As per usual, any questions please let me know.
Hope to see you there

Rodgers does seem to love a challenge! Swap one flawed genius for another. From my point of view Mario doesn't really fit the hardworking off the ball mould that we demand from players but he can play when he wants too! We will see!
He'll get dealt to sooner or later -

"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...
I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."
Stay away from Macca Leighbo, he will only hurt you!
...but he's right almost half the time! What a strike rate!
Macca comes good......
Haha, I was just visiting the thread to address your previous quote...
"...sure beats doin' stuff."
haha! Hope he comes through on the Kono rumour too......can't see it though.
Isn't he free in Jan? If so no point paying for him now :)
We won't pay much and be nice to get him for CL. Sounds like the deal is done, just waiting for all the other deals to be sorted.

More the merrier mate. Not exclusive by any means. Just a great chance to get together with footy fans instead if watching it by yourself
