Well a draw was all that was needed, and so I'm happy with the goaless draw. The next matchday will be interesting, in terms of what team Sir Alex puts out. We just have to match Villareal's result, and both Celtic and Aalborg can't gain anything, so it will be a chance to put some of the younger lads out against the Danes.

Would've liked to have seen Tevez play more minutes, but he has played the last 3 matches so its not all doom and gloom for CT. He'll be back scoring goals in no time!

Tevez should've come on when he first got up (as Smyth kept telling us)

Hopeful for 3 points tonight. Hopefully they can do it away at Eastlands. Be good to see big Nemanja all over Robinho. Man City becoming a big club? pfft

Good to see that despite a bit of oil money, normal service has resumed in Manchester.

Ronaldo's sending off was bollocks... it hit his hand, thats nice, he didn't dive, he didn't appeal that he got pushed in the back, he actually just started walking back to defend (or what he would call defending)

Should of been sent off when he clapped the ref. Deserved it wholeheartedly the t**ser. How Rooney doesn't get booked every game astounds me, the petulant scouse Twit.

Apart from that congrats on your win.

Three for me, and two for them.

You watch the other teams, always making pointless tackles useless tackles and getting away with it. Ronny gets tackled at least once a match that for any other player would warrant a straight red, except because Ronny can so easily draw them into the tackles, it doesn't happen. And Ronney has only ever given what he gets.

The world hates him, yeah he cries (which I don't like him for), yeah he goes down to easily like most other players in the world, just he's known as a diver etc because he can get himself into those opportunities more often.

This is more a rant than an angis btw.

How could anyone complain about Ronaldos 2nd yellow (or his first one for that matter), the hand ball was ridiculous. He really is a petulant child and someone needs to put him in his place

They did-- he was voted the best player in the world

He's also the best player in the world. He acted like he had heard the whistle blow, though it clearly didn't. No idea why he hand-balled it, very strange, but never mind. Cristiano also gets the sh*t kicked out of him a lot, no question about that. I'm not saying he often doesn't make the most of it, but he is targeted, because he is that good.

Buffon, Wayne does have his brain explosions occassionaly, but he has matured a lot. When Cristiano got given his red, watch Wayne's reaction: instead of protesting or getting angry he sprints to the sidelines to get the tactical changes from the bench. That's leadership for mine. Great to see him get that 100th goal.

Love beating City!!

I was told tonight that Ronaldo thought he heard a whistle and that it might have been a fan in the crowd. Having heard a whistle at the ROF, there is some credibility in that excuse. Me, of all people sticking up for him!!

However on any occassion and with any player, handling the ball is a yellow unless it's a goalkeeper in his own goal area and it wasn't passed back to him by a team mate.

Look at his body language though, he's moving is head for a big smack then pulls right out, he even turns to look at the ref before the ref actually blows his whistle.

And I'm not complaining about hsi first, I'm complaing that if someone did that to Ronny for the 5oth time in the match, they'd get away with it.

Yes Tosic is a quality left sided player...takes players on...natural skill and dribbling skills!!!
He will be a superb replacement for Giggs.

Another class act on the books is Adem Ljajic...an 18 year old midfielder...look out for that one.

Thats an interesting question. Firstly, Sir Alex has said no new signings in January, though I too had assummed Tosic was arriving then. I suppose he may stay on with his current club until the start of next season.

As for Nani, well i think he's just like Cristiano about four years ago, just waiting for a break through season. He certainly has his moments, though I don't have full confidence in him, it must be said. Will keenly watch how he goes tomorrow against Blackburn.

Well he's got one this morning already, and its only halftime. Nice finish after a neat one-two with Tevez. Its 2nil at the break, Tevez was given the other goal but I'm sure it will be changed to an own goal. Watford-Spurs 1-all at the mo, if Watford go through then we'll be the only Premiership side left, in a competition we dont really need, with all the extra congestion of fixtures. Still, I'd take any trophy!

He got another in the last minute, so at the moment he has 4... My internet started doing someinteresting things so I didn't see the 2nd half. Finished 5-3 though, what a ridiculous match. Scholes made his comeback from injury also.

I see Real madrid are at it again stirring up that they have Ronaldo next season. When are FIFA going to grow some balls and fine these Twits a couple of million US dollars so they learn to stop stirring. They will always be second best to Barca. Lonegunmen2008-12-20 15:32:45

Trouble is if it costs them an extra couple of million but they still get the player then I'm sure they'd consider that a success.

Yes because no other club ever does this...

Man Utd did the same sort of thing with Berbatov.

Karma.

Meh. I'm hardly worried just yet. Just last week I was reading somewhere Cristiano was preparing to sign a new contract with us. Goons over in Madrid can say whatever they want, its our perogative to let Ronnie leave over the next few years. The other thing is is with Ramos in charge now, they've already been linked to a bunch of wingers (Adam Johnson haha and Ashley Young) so it will be interesting to see how that works out. They got Diarra from Pompey this morning, and Huntelaar is joining in January as well. Benzema won't be far behind in my opinion.

Gamba Osaka in the Club World Club Cup tonight just before midnight, I'm getting quietly excited about this one. Great chance to see the boys against some non-European opposition. If they get past Gamba it will be Quito in the final, on Sunday night.

Hopefully they express themselves a bit.

And I may be incorrect, but Man United never said they had signed Berbatov before they actually did.

scrappy game vs osaka, 5-3 is a pretty random scoreline, defense loooked a bit at sea without vidic, but attack was mint, could tell from the outset osaka have a mint attack but could never defend v uniteds attack, that endo guy is pretty darn good tho!

that was a surprisingly entertaining game. i thought the defense went to sleep a bit after vidic went off and after we'd scored our fifth goal. Bring on Quito!

can't wait for that game, hate Milan but Zlatan, Quaresma and Adriano are three of my favourite players and seeing them line up  against Nani, Giggs, Tevez and co. will be fantastic
You know we belong together...
