0-0 is a pretty good result in the home leg. You only need 1-1 away.

Arsenal team to play Monaco:
Ospina,
Bellerin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Coquelin,
Cazorla, Sanchez, Ozil,
Welbeck, Giroud

I thought szy would be back for sure... is his time up?

I think a spell on the sidelines is a bit premature to suggest time is up. And fark me this is a laborious game, and of course Monaco score off a deflection!

The commentators analysis of that goal was perfect. Disgraceful work all round. Get Walcott & Rosicky on & let's throw it at them.

Why did we not sign Kondogbia?

Typical Arsenal. Score a goal at the end to keep our thin hopes alive.

Then we'll go to Monaco, be 1-0 up from the 2nd minute and not be able to score a 2nd.

How bad were sacker and giroud today? Not sure who disappointed me more.  No idea why wenger allways leaves Ozil on even if he's having a stinker. Really think we missed nacho at the back today.

Yea read that before the game. I hope some one ask him what part of todays performance was him using his killer instinct.

He was a useful as brick in brain surgery. Same goes for the sacker.

Really been disappointed this season with how we perform in big matches.  Other than the 2-2 v manc. I dont think we've stepped up against top/harder opposition(and even then we threw that away)

I've been disappointed how we perform in big games since we lost our spine in 05. How it appears obvious to everyone else but Wenger fails to address things I'll never know. Was it Monaco or Wenger the visionary back in September 1994?

Sanchez is bang out of form right now and no one else has remotely stepped up going forward. Never write off the Arsenal but even for us this one is asking too much.

All our efforts on the FA Cup, anyone else feel like this feeling come February is becoming a regular occurence and it's becoming a little boring?

We beat Man City 2-0, at their house. Wasn't even that long ago.

Good points here. Sanchez is out of form. February has sucked for some years now.

Anyone else feel like Mertesacker might no longer be up to it? He never looked quick but it seems to be getting worse. Last few games I've not been impressed by some of his plays - against Palace he was terribly misjudging headers all day which is worrying for a CB.

At least it's 3 weeks till the next leg. If we find some form before then we can overhaul it. Will be very tough away against a good defensive unit but we are capable. We almost did it to Bayern a few years ago.

Three for me, and two for them.

i think Metsacker's problem is that he never had a break after the world cup and then played every single game for us untill jan. He has allways been slow but usually reads the game very well to make up for it

Most of the problems stem back to the fact that AW didn't buy a defender when he should've.

Or a top class striker.

No surprise it's happened again. First time for years we haven't had to face one of the big clubs but still managed to get thrashed in the first leg anyway. Can't remember the last time we went into a second leg still in the tie, let alone went through. Think that's 4 or 5 years in a row we've lost the first leg by 2 or more goals. We all know how this film goes, we'll win the second leg 2-0 and be "proud of the performance" then drop points to Newcastle. What's the actual point of finishing 4th every season just to get humiliated in the round of 16 again? Everything has to go into the FA Cup now.

Fair to say that's the angriest I've ever been watching Arsenal. There was one moment when Giroud missed and I was throwing stuff around the room.

With the benefit of the red mist disappearing I really do hope we learn from that & fire up. Can we got to Monaco & score 3? Probably. Can we prevent them from scoring at all? Hard to see it, we need to reach last years Mert/Kosc pairing BOSS level.

It's been going on for too many years now, if Wenger hasn't learned by now he never will. At 1-0 down it was just ridiculous to panic and desperately throw everyone forward when there was still 2 hours left in the tie. Similarly when we got back to 2-1 it was a lot more than we deserved and would have been doable in the second leg. Keep it tight at the back for injury time and accept the lifeline we've just got. Same thing every season. FA Cup means a lot more to me than finishing 3rd/4th at this point, really can't be bothered going through this in the CL again next year.

Really? The angriest?

This happens so often that I've become numb to it

1) The commentators constant hating on Giroud was killing me. Giroud's come back in sublime form from his injury. Then he did nothing but validate the commentators comments.

2) Giroud's come out the eve of the match talking himself up, then plays his worst match for us.

3) Bellerin, Mertesacker, Kosc, Gibbs is my preffered back 4, and includes a CB partnership that was one of the best in the prem last season. Last night they looked like they'd never played together.

4) Alexis & Ozil looked like $4m pound squad players, when they're capable of so much more.

5) I was off work with a sinus infection & was attempting to work

This is why I was the angriest I've been. I appreciate I'm normally in the 'glass half full camp' and this was my 'oh f*ck it all' moment.
