I just noticed something. The Warriors last game is away to the Eels. This is exactly the same fixture as in 08 when we were neck and neck with making the finals going into the final round. Could be a good omen.

Three for me, and two for them.

Good to see the boys get back on track. Nice win.
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
and at the right time of the season, we need two more to get into the 8, but if we win all remaining it could be a home semi!
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
so bloody tight in the 8. 3 teams on 26 and like 4 on 28

Just remember we did play the sharks

Yeah but we usually never win in Cronulla.

Three for me, and two for them.

And a game against a weak side like Cronulla is just the sort of game I'd expect us to bottle. S

Dunno if any of you guys follow the UK league, but the older brother of the Bunnie's Sam Burgess had a nasty head clash in a tackle.

On his twitter account, he has been posting pictures of the damage. Broke his jaw in 2 places. The one he took in the ambulance is nasty

Jake's been going alright. Good move to re-sign him.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Not worth it at all.

We have no room for 'journeyman' forwards these days.

I would have preferred giving a contract to a young up and comer from the TC cup or Vulcans.

How Lillyman ever played 4 SOO games I will never understand.
over 15 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
No, im not a Lillyman fan. Too much of what we already have in the back row department.

The guy who I was really disappointed they let go, though its probably understandable, is Likiliki (no idea how you spell his name). Hes gone to the Knights which for him is a wise move given what will be in front of him in the centres next year but its a shame for us because he is such an immense talent.

Interested to see how Mara goes if he gets a run this weekend, always loved watching him for the 20s. Hopefully he can reproduce some of that at Senior level.

I strongly suspect, and all the signs indicate, that he'll probably be used as a prop next season.

Should some good form over the last few games after a long injury lay-off. Useful man to have in the squad.

As for Mara. I'd be surprised if he plays on Saturday. He did look good for the U20s but he's not exactly been on fire with the Vulcans this season. He's been solid rather than spectacular when I've seen him. He's had a few injuries which haven't helped.

We need a bullocking prop next year.

Someone who can break the line regularly with a decent offload where appropriate.

That isn't Lillymans game.

He is a utility back at best IMO.

I'd think that now Jake has signed an extension to his contract, we might have given up the hunt for a prop. We had been looking for one.

We'll be pretty well served for backrowers next season.

I've already renewed my season ticket for next year, God help me!. Happy days.

Thats a real shame if they have.

Presumably Rapira is one of your starters with Packer and Royal fighting for the other spot. Latimore still floats around somewhere and they see Matulino as a prop now to (don't get me started on how they have coached the flair out of him) so Lillyman for my mind would sit behind all of those guys. Maybe Cleary likes him, and he does tend to like this kind of forward.

They must still have a fair chunk of cash sitting around that they didn't spend on Matai.

Royal's heading back to Australia at the end of the season, from all accounts.

I think Lillyman will be coming off the bench as a prop.

Agree with you on Ben M having those offloads coached out of him, but I think he's gone quite well this year.

Oh thats a shame re Royal, he was developing nicely into a decent player.

I wonder if they are saving up the pennies to re-sign Manu. When are Jerome and Simon off-contract?

Please god let them re-sign Manu.

wouldn't worry me if Jerome and Mannering went.

Yup, I've got a lot of time for Jesse. Helluva nice bloke,as well.

Simon and Jerome are contracted till the end of 2012

Word is that Ian Henderson has signed with the Catalans Dragins, so Mara might have a shot next season.

Thats interesting re Hendo. Obviously we are beginning to put a lot of faith in these young kids who have done so well at NYC level. Hopefully it pays off.

Fai. Yup, a tragic loss and his death cast a big shadow on th club on and off the park last year.

You don't want to trivialise it but I would love to see a Price or Mannering (one of the senior guys) talk about how that affected the club last year. There have been snippits of discussion about it never really an indepth explanation. Which maybe should be the way it stays but would be very interesting.

Yeah, it would be interesting. I've been to various events up here and spoken to some of the players and Wayne Scurrah and, while it wasn't really spoken about, reading between the lines it had a huge effect on everybody.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
