With Mar beating the Bubbles in Central League today that's Wests effectively out of the Central League title race, so I would imagine from here on out we will see a stackathon. Jenga ftw.

Explain how Wests are effectively out of the CL title race?

5 points behind with 4 matches remaining!

Any predictions on the team to be relegated from Premier?

Marist, Wainui or Wests?

If a Cap prem team is promoted to CL and the bottom team in Prem League relegated that would leave 8 teams in Premier.
How would promotion from Cap 1 work?
On todays tables Petone would go up as winners but who would join them?

Wharf are in 2nd place but cant be promoted. Are North Wellington required to finish runners up to gain promotion?

If norf welli were 3rd they would get a playoff v second bottom (and probably lose)

I'm confused now.

If Upper Hutt (or whoever) go up, but the team relegated from CL doesn't come down.  Wouldn't that mean that there was a vacancy in Cap Prem without anyone getting relegated.

Presumably Petone get that gap.

Then if Wharf finish 2nd in Cap One, would that mean North Wellington get a play off against the team placed last in Cap Prem?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I think what happens is the normal promotion/relegation process between Prem/Cap 1 takes place. But if there is a vacancy because a Prem teams gets promoted to CL, then the highest placed relegated team in prem would stay in prem (if that makes sense)

Promotion/relegation rules here....

1)      At the end of the normal season, the following will determine promotion from Capital 1 and relegation from Capital Premier:

a)      If the top two teams in Capital 1 are eligible for promotion, the top two teams in Capital 1 will be automatically promoted and the bottom two teams in Capital Premier will be automatically relegated.

b)     If the top team in Capital 1 is not eligible for promotion:

(i)     The team finishing second in Capital 1 (if eligible for promotion) will be automatically promoted

(ii)   The team finishing bottom in Capital Premier will be automatically relegated

(iii)   The team finishing third in Capital 1 (if eligible for promotion) will play-off with the ninth-placed team in Capital Premier

c)      If the second-placed team in Capital 1 is not eligible for promotion:

(i)     The team finishing top in Capital 1 (if eligible for promotion) will be automatically promoted

(ii)    The team finishing bottom in Capital Premier will be automatically relegated

(iii)       the team finishing third in Capital 1 (if eligible for promotion) will play-off with the ninth-placed team in Capital Premier

d)     If, in either of the situations described in (b) and (c) above, the third placed team in Capital 1 is not eligible for promotion, there will only be one promoted team from Capital 1 and the ninth-placed team in Capital Premier will not be relegated.

e)      If neither of the teams finishing first and second in Capital 1 is eligible for promotion, the third placed team in Capital 1 will be automatically promoted and the team placed bottom in Capital Premier will be automatically relegated.

f)       When more than two teams are required to be relegated from Capital Premier, the principle of promotion outlined in Paragraph 1(a) will be followed.

You might think that, but the rules don't actually say that as far as I can see.

Capital Football's regulations make my brain hurt.

If it was seasons end today.

If Upper Hutt is promoted to Central.
No team would be relegated from Central to Premier as Central Region team is relegated to Central Region.
Wests would be relegated to Cap 1 as bottom placed Prem team.
Petone and North Wellington would gain promotion from Cap 1.

Though I guess a playoff match would be played between Wainui and North Wellington to see who would get the place in Premier should Premier Champions lose their promo to Central League match

You might be right.

OR, North Wellington might have to play a playoff game against Wests.

Wharf 2 Welly united 3. Welly united the better side, good comeback from our lads 3-0 down with ten to play. The ref and both officials were disgraceful, but whats new it is a rare day the officials actually do a good job and that's a shame. These people are paid to officiate they are not there out of the goodness of their hearts. Just as players have human error so do officials, but there comes a point where too much error creeps in and there is no one to regulate this. In general the standard I have seen this year has been particularly woeful.

Any other results? Might be a little hard on the refs horsehead although they did get in the way of the players a fair bit. New turf is alot better when it has a bit of water on it, far too slow other wise

So if we only have refs who are out there doing it through " the Goodness of Theirs Hearts " the problem will disappear........yeah right.

Arf - all three bottom teams got destroyed by 4 or more goals. Shall be a right good battle between us (Marist) and Wests (who knows what team) in a fortnight.

Still five games to go isn't there? Welly united have got a game in hand as well so they would have to be a factor. Stop out vs united next weekend could clear things up a bit

Could be tough run in if stop out and uniteds have lesser teams. Hogster2011-07-10 21:22:20

There's not many easy ones this year - most teams can trip any other up on their day. Mr Blobby2011-07-10 21:25:24

I'd say it is when your trying to win the league, especially against the teams they have left

You missed Island Bay I think.
Stop Out has Wgtn U, Marist and Wanui at home, Island Bay, Wharf and Greeks away.

Upper Hutt will defo win the league again.... good to see the football showing its strength in Upper Hutt!

Plus the extra players that have come into the squad will definately push them into the central league

Your quite right, have island bay on the new turf next weekend. Surely whoever loses out of stop out and Wgtn U this weekend is out of the race. Also think UH game against marist this week could be tricky, especially on kilbirnie park which is a shocker

If we put a performance together of more then 15-20 minutes. Who knows. We competed exceedingly well against Stop Out. But have been beyond poor the last two weeks.

Not over yet...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

so game of this round would be Stop Out v Utd.
Anyone know if Utd got fined for using their own adidas balls v Wharf?

With their open transparent systems they have to. But they have missed opportunities to annoy their stake holders before.

They have to fine united for using addidas balls as the ref will have done his duty and noted it on the card and then CF have to go back and fine all the clubs they have missed for other infringements which require a fine after they have fined a club for the same offence. One law one rule same penalty.
