City v WSW Game next week fight for the 6. spot. City just scored 8 and Rudan publicly trashed his players because they lost in the 98min. He is the worst man managing coach in the league.

I wonder how Olly Sail has enjoyed his transfer to Perth?
There was some woeful stuff in tonight's game!

Poor bugger. They definitely prefer playing at home. Almost as many on the pitch as in the stand.
Photo worth those thousand words. Not a happy chappy.

Sharkty defending, but Sail seemed too far off his line on at least a few of those goals?

Penalty for the Reds but VAR overturns it. Honestly, what a joke.

More VAR fun and games: this time it is a pen for the Reds. Ibusuki makes it 2-1 just before the break.

Fudgeing typical! Yet another injury time goal and the WU steal an equaliser with less than a minute to go.

That's curtains for the Reds.

Unless I'm missing something, it's not curtains for the Reds if WSW (6th, 34 pts, 10 wins, -4 GD) draw their next game against Melb City (7th, 33 pts, 9 wins, +10 GD).

A draw in that game would still give Adelaide (8th,  29 pts, 8 wins, +0 GD), some hope. Note Adelaide's GD is currently superior to WSW's GD

In this round if Adelaide beat CCM, and WSW & MC drew that would leave
WSW 35 pts & 10 wins, MC 34 pts & 9 wins and Adelaide 32 pts & 9 wins.

Then in the final round if WSW lost, MC lost or drew & Adelaide won would leave
Adelaide 35 pts & 10 wins, WSW 35 pts & 10 wins and MC 34 or 35 pts & 9 wins.

Next tiebreaker after wins is GD. So Adelaide would be through ahead of WSW, again unless I'm missing something??

So hope for a WSW v Melb City draw Saturday night, to at least keep Adelaide motivated for their Gosford game Sunday.

Procedures to Determine Placings after Regular Season

At the completion of the Regular Season Clubs are ranked from one (1) through to twelve (12), with the first six (6) Clubs progressing to the Finals Series. The position of each Club will be determined based on the following criteria:

  1. Highest number of points accumulated during the Regular Season;
  2. if two (2) or more Clubs are level on points accumulated, the following criteria will be applied, in order, until all Clubs can be separated and ranked in order:
  3. total number of wins;
  4. highest goal difference;

From what I saw of that game. Not much chance of Adelaide beating CCM away from home. Sure they score a few goals against weaker teams but they are so fragile at the back. Really missing GK Gauchi from last season. Makes such a difference to team mentality having a good keeper. Paulsen a huge reason we are challenging at top of the table right now.

Ibisuki!! Japanese Zawada strikes again

Sounds like Ibusuki isn't gonna be re-signed by Adelaide next season, I wouldn't say no to him being a Zawada replacement tbh.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t being re-signed because they can’t afford him.

Agh when I see the ref blow for a foul on that tiny little nudge into Ugarkovic's back I get angry all over again about the late Roar equaliser after Old was bowled over from behind.

I have learned to let it go. Partly because I genuinely think we’ve had it about equal with the rub of the green. Unusually. Partly because hating City is counterproductive…Partly because I can think about 4-5 things that were easily within our control that we didn’t do.

But yeh…now it’s our margin of loss…

Looking at the remaining matches, I think City might actually finish 5th.

City - Western
Macarthur - Sydney/Phoenix
Sydney - Macarthur/Glory

Macarthur could easily lose both those matches and City win to get ahead of them.
