So we're all Western United fans tonight right?
Well, after being Wahinix fans.
It would be quite fun if AFC's final game came down to the wire, I'd like to think we'd see the best football they have to offer.
That’s a great finish.
WSW look in brilliant form heading in to the finals. They’ve got City next week so could be doing Auckland several massive favours in the run in.

Three for me, and two for them.

Massive result. If the Snakes had won that, they would have been two points behind and with the game against AFC to conclude the season, I believe favourites for the title.
Now 6 behind which you think will be too much to catch.
City only four behind now but their goal difference is the most inferior of the 3 teams and they have a tough game away against Western Sydney next.
The RBB may just do the Port a favour next week.
If things unfold AFC may be able to wrap this up at home in a couple of weeks against Perth.

Great finale to the end of the season. Some real good games coming up. And the teams who'll be top 6 all look 🔥
27 goals from 6 games over the weekend. Some of the defending maybe dodgy over the weekend (looking at you Nix & CCM), but plenty of exciting young talent around the league at the moment.
Shame the Nix won't be there, but should be a close finals series. WSW, WU, VUC, SFC and Melb City all look capable of beating Auckland even in NZ.
The 4 top scorers in the Golden Boot race, all young Aussies either 23 or younger. Noah Botic (23), Archie Goodwin (20), Adrian Segecic (20) & Nicolas Milanovic (23).
Thomas Waddingham (20) would likely be up the list as well if he hadn't left early season for Portsmouth. 4 goals in 11 games when he left the Roar in January.
From a selfish Phoenix point of view be good if some of the above young talent, also got picked up by European clubs this off season.
As we see with the Mariners and Nix this campaign, you lose 3 or more of your best young players, it can be a struggle the season after.

SO if AFC beat Perth in Auckland they will have 50 points. WU cant get more than 50 points even if they win all their remaining games. Melb City can only get more than 50 points if they win their last three games and they have to playWSW and Sydney. If AFC dont choke then its the Plate for them. A win and a draw will probably be enough.

AFC need 4 points to secure the Premiers Plate.
Western can get up to 50 points with 3 wins. If Both AFC and Western finish on 50 points, it comes down to GD. Atm AFC is +21 and Western +16. They play each other in the last round, so a 2-0 Western win would be a 4 GD swing.

Have you forgotten City who can get to 52.

Whoops, yes. For some reason I thought City only had two games left.
Victory vs AFC is a massive game next Saturday.

Bad errors really costing them the last few games. Maybe the pressure of trying to catch AFC is telling on them.
Currently leading Western United 2-0 after 25 minutes, Brisbane Roar are on track for their first win at home in 410 days. #BRIvWUN

The Roar are in serious danger of ending their streak here.

They are one of the youngest ALM squads iirc. So might be the lack of experience showing.
If the Roar go onto win this, then Auckland are officially the kings of jammy luck.
Remembering Auckland FC can secure the A-League Men Premiership as soon as Saturday night.
They need to win away to Melbourne Victory that evening, for Western United not to win away to Brisbane Roar on Thursday and for Melbourne City to lose away to Western Sydney Wanderers later on Saturday.

The Roar haven't won an ALM home game since 3rd March 2024! In fact their home record is so awful that they have only managed one draw in that woeful stretch. 1st March this year, against VUC. 12 losses & 1 draw at Suncorp. So bad they have pushed the NZ Knights out of the record books of bad.
There you go, was just thinking how sub par Ibusuki has been for a while now and he goes and does that. Game on.
It's almost 50/50 now that Auckland (47 pts, GD +21) will be Premiers Plate winners late Saturday night.
If they win against the VUC, and Melb City (43 pts, GD +12) lose at WSW, the silverware is AFC's with 2 games to go.
Even if Melb City managed a draw, if AFC beat the VUC such is the GD seperation Auckland would basically be champions elect, with the Glory at Mt Smart next week.
Basically the Estonians beat Victory and they can start making up a glass cabinet in Penrose. MC need their derby rivals to do them a big favour.

Don’t become a betting man Cooch.
Both Melbourne clubs are the favourites with the bookies to win.
Would be good however if AFC win it the following week at home.
Would bring a big crowd as well - maybe 20k
Don’t want to leave it to the last game, second to last game at home will do

Never thought I would be supporting both the Vuck and City but here we are. Of course this means they'll lose because of reasons.
Funny how all the results go aUcKlAnDs way but when we needed the results to go our way last year, we get nothing.

WU lose to the Roar. Thats a huge upset. That leaves WU on 41 points with two to play. They cant get more than AFCs 47 points and AFC have a way better goal difference.
Only City can overtake Auckland. Two wins in the last three games is enough for AFC.

Still 0-0 at half time, I can just see Auckland scoring another late winner.
Please, no.
Tight first half. AFC more likely to score from a set move, Melbourne from a quick attack. AFC probably wouldnt be upset with a draw as a point then a win against Perth would probably be enough. A loss would really put them under real pressure
Auckland are poor so far and keep giving the ball away. If they come out and play their normal game they will win this.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
