Adelaide and Jets are locked at 1-1.  Kelli Brown scored first.  Really need the Jets to win their last two games, starting with this one

Well not a good result for more than one reason. Annoying that Macarthur are good again.

Brisbane and Sydney draw would be good.

AFC down 0-1 at half time. They have dominated but have been caught out by a quick counter attack.
For all their attacking power AFC are sometimes really inefficient in front of goal. Brook having a poor match.
Woud injured in the warmup and someone i have never heard of in goal.

23 yr old keeper Jimmy Hilton signed from the NSW NPL when Sail got injured long term.

Usual 3rd choice keeper Joe Knowles, working his way back to full fitness following surgery for a hip issue.
And when Hilton was signed back in February, OFC Pro League Goalkeepers Oscar Mason and Blake Callinan were away in PNG, and Eli Jones was out with glandular fever.

Mason has been impressive in the OFC League, so depending on how bad Woud's pre game injury is, Mason might find himself promoted to the senior squad.

Finishes 1-1. Really spiteful match. AFC got 8 yellow cards. They probably should have won but cant convert dominance into goals
Terrible K.O for May. Completely knocked out and then unbelievably they got him to his feet and he played on. Stupid decision IMO

Hilton looked ok as a last minute standin for Woud. A couple of shakey moments but he looks like a good keeper. Maybe worth the Nix looking at him if they dont want to waste an import slot re- signing Josh

Yeah Hilton looked very useful. Bit of a hostile cauldron at Hindmarsh.

Maybe it was easier that he came in very last minute/unplanned, no time to really over think it all. Plus I guess the best defensive unit in the league in front of him.

Hilton did ok, but it was quite obvious that he struggles to kick the ball over half way for some reason.

I also don’t think distribution is his forte so a lot to work on there but it’s probably fixable.

Irrespective of Mays concussion he was absolutely shocking which has been representative of his season. No way that he is signed again.

Despite a couple of poor finishes Brook was excellent as was Elliot. Considering first game back thought Nando did ok as well.

Ref had a shocker.

Auckland will rise once more

They also still can’t win after conceding first, may it continue for as long as possible.

Brook was unusually poor for a player of his track record to date. No complaints about his distribution and a general "attacking midfield" positioning and tackling.  It is what he could not do with a ball in front of the goal that disappointed me.
Poor old May. From blocking an otherwise unstoppable shot on Adelaide goal to playing on while probably concussed after a triple whammy in a collision.  And then he nearly got himself sent off after a stupid (luckily very brief) throat grabbing in a melee.
Conversely I though Elliot had an excellent game especially second half.  He is a very different player now from the one I remember at the Nix.  And good to see Sakai playing again, although the circumstances in the late second half were hardly conducive to good football.
Considering the circumstances, I think the rookie goalie (Hinton) did very well, especially with his awareness and decision-making. I agree his goalkicks are yet to reach the expected distance - could be worked on.
There is something different about the Cooper's Stadium from other venues. Listening to the broadcast I often expect that at some point there will be a mob with pitchforks and burning torches invading the pitch, and at least one attempt to chase the opposition players with a length of the goalpost.

I was hoping they would suffer back to back losses for a change.

Love that our Wahnix were the only NZ based team to leave Coopers with 3 points last night.

3-0, but Marcus Younis gets himself sent off, so he gets a week off when we come to town.

One goal and two assists tonight for him. So that's a handy out for us!

Edit - Scratch that, forgot Citeh have CCM midweek ffs.
