anyone know what has happened to Greenie? Has he left the club? I know Giancarlo became assistant at the start of the season but I assumed Greenie would keep his role? Havent seem him on the bench on any of the games, only Giancarlo has been there. Unless I’m wrong?

"I can confirm that Prime will be airing the Round 6 A-League highlights this Friday at 10:30 pm, and will have the other round highlights also on Fridays but start times may differ."
Highlights of every Phoenix match continue screening the day after the match at 6 pm.

He's still assistant coach and is with the team in Australia.
During the CCM game he was shown by the cameras up the top in the glass booth looking down intently on the on-field proceedings.

A lot will depend on the agreed shape and format of the league for the next season, rather than this current season.
If it reverts to a winter code, it will matters complicated for us; competing with other codes will be a problem for us (I am surprised it is not considered a problem for the other clubs in the A League). Australian winter is perfect to play, Wellington could be a bit more dire.

it’s a massive problem for other Australian clubs. During winter in AAMI Park in Melbourne, the stadium will be shared by the Melbourne Victry, Melbourne City, Melbourne Storm and Rebels. Until Western United get their own stadium they will share with the owners of the ground, Geelong Cats not to mention BankWest will be shared with 3/4 codes. Not to mention the media will be focused on AFL and NRL. It’s a massive issue for other clubs, more then the Phoenix I say

yes, the reason the A League is in summer is because of the competition with other codes, so I cant imagine it changing.

how the fudge do you get "the club is going to fold" from that? all it says is that the owners have had to stump up with more cash than expected to keep playing in Aussie. Nothing new to see here, we all knew playing this season was going to cost us a lot. The point is, that we owe the owners a huge debt of gratitude. The only way we can show that gratitude is by packing Sky stadium when the nix are back.

Doesn't show much faith in Waine though. I don't think he has been given a fair crack, never seems to come on when we are in a dominant position, so seems to be asked to do donkey work and defend alot.

Going to be a tough couple of weeks you think for Talay and his coaching staff, dealing with all their injuries, Ball's suspension, and likely dropping team morale.

Muratovic has gone missing in games but so has everyone who's played up top (Hemed ended up dropping very deep to get touches). Absolutely noone (with the exception of Davila and maybe McGarry) has shown up at all this year.

We have 3 games over the weeks. So that is really going to test our squad.
I'd like to see Fenton get more game time, and Sutton to get some game time.
Really hope Devlin is fit, as don't think Rufer and Ridenton are a good starting DM pairing.

9 Kiwis in that starting lineup. One bright side.
Though suspect Muratovic starts ahead of Waine. I thought he was improved against CCM on earlier games, first touch a bit better, and got into some threatening areas. Maybe a bit more relaxed (less nervous?) as was really a lost cause already when he came on.
Putting Payne into CB makes sense. He played there for ES prior Nix.
And yes lets hope Devlin is okay to go. Almost the biggest loss if he is out. Which is a nice compliment for a 2nd year player.
Who knows an underdog, fighting, nothing to lose attitude, with fresh faces, may just be the change the team needs. Keep it tight, hang in there as long as possible, and always a chance. Optimistic view.
