Tore my meniscus playing football last night so can’t make it down today. What a shame. I have 2x tickets in YF, will discount them please PM me
Sorry to hear you'll miss the games, hope you recover soon!
This football thing sounds dangerous, someone should ban it.
Did the same with my ACL two seasons ago, was at the Nix game the following weekend. Shame about the injury theaucklandphoenixfan, good luck with the recovery.

I know you’re joking, but I heard a futurologist say that all our teams will be virtual soon, with holograms or other flash displays, perhaps VR stadiums, as soon as people start taking concussion and other injuries seriously! FM needs a bit of an overhaul yet though…
Time to show these blue boys, these johnny come latelys about the Ring of Fire! We’re the PHOENIX, the MIGHTY PHOENIX! We’re not the Kings or Knights. We win today, we win today, we win today 🔥!
A few of my mates saw a big group of Auckland fans shouting a bunch of anti nix stuff at a little kid wearing a nix top with his mum. No A-League fan base has ever been in such a dire need of a humbling

That is way too far, those lot can go f*ck themselves.
Yeah with the things said above I'm now not feeling bad about decided not to go to the game. Of course I'd love to go especially because I couldn't go to the first men game at Sky. But young not so confident me doesn't want to risk anything. Oh well for sure gonna support both the women and men from home. COYN!
What’s wrong with that? Just a bit of banter, no need to take it personally.. Jazzy Jeff

There's 'banter' and there's shouting at a little kid. They are not the same. Learn the fudgeing difference
Eh i think people should toughen personally, we are far too sheltered in NZ with this kind of stuff.. But that’s just me :) And I am a parent to young child myself, unless it gets personal I see no reason to take offence, just give it back Maaaaaaatt

Anyway lets agree to disagree oh this folks :) enjoy the game, and go the nix :) i will see you all post game on here win lose or draw..
Edit: I remember last year in the second Auckland game, as were marching in to the ground a kid in a nix top who was around 12 or 13 pulled the finger at Auckland fans walking past and yelled “fudge the jaffas”, the Auckland fans just laughed and moved on.. so please, don’t act all precious about this.. it’s football, it’s fun, and yelling something from afar is far more relaxed from what other derbies are like where kids are banned to go due to violence and chaos that can surround derbies and big games, I think we all need to relax a bit and not be so uptight about this, enjoy the game and the atmosphere.. all is good 😊

Totally respect your decision to sit this one out, but it’s sad to hear that even some of our most passionate fans are factoring in personal safety when deciding which games to attend.
To AucklandPhoenix’s point we probably don’t help things here by focussing on any bad behaviour from a minority of the Port (and yeah, I’m guilty of this too), but I hope things go smoothly enough today that you’ll feel more comfortable about future derbies.
Can I just say the Port's animosity towards us online is really weird? Like why do you hate us? Lmao
WE actually have good reason, they beat us 3 times, took our OFC spot (although probably for the best), took Paulsen ect
What's their reason though? Football culture said so? Because their club founded two years ago said so? And like they REALLY hate us online
edit: And I still remember when they tried harassing this forum, really weird
Its mostly just rage bait - Best to ignore in a lot of cases. In fact I'd go as far as to say that there are a lot of hangers on that leverage the port name to 'rally the troops' especially when it comes to an online setting, but they will be nowhere to be found when fortunes shift, which we all know they inevitably will.
On that note, people also forget that the internet is kinda forever, so it always gives me a laugh to see the rapid changing of flags, but only a few years ago they're posting photos with Nix players and posting messages of support etc etc - GTFOH with that shark I say... Hell, even one of the Yellow Fever scholarship guys from back in the day is loud and proud ∩┴Ԁ now. 😆
For all the cretins that we hear about though, there genuinely are some good people in there for them too, and many that I've personally caught up with and shared many a beer with so I wouldnt go as far to tar them all with the same brush, even if I hate the team they support.
Best code to live by is to not let the bad apples ruin it for the rest of them/us. The good ones can actually talk football as well, which is a fairly easy mark if you're looking to identify a wrongun'
But the whole vibe of the Port is weird. A few of the main Port people are from the UK and want the casuals/firm type support for the Auckland FC. Which could be fine, but they've been going too far with this.
I also think the union jacks and stone island replica stickers from the Port might make some of them have right wing ideas. Leads to them hating the Fever for the general support of left leaning support. The majority of the Auckland FC fans are good, and genuinely want to create a great active support for them, but there is a bunch of fans that aren't and seem to go unchecked, which is worrying.
Prediction - more posts about what assholes AFC fans are then football ones today 😂
Just maybe because thats just what some of them have shown themselces to be and we are still hours out from the game. We get fans from all the orher teams visiting without the hostility that the Auckland Bling fans seem to bring.

Just as for years Aucklanders have been labelled Jaffas by those living south of the Bombays, so quite a few Aucklanders have now come to regard Wellingtonians as preachy smug upthselves besotted with arty-ness and wokeness in the form of cycle lanes, anti industry, anti commerce, anti-car, anti boating, anti bling, anti all sorts of things your possibly average stereotype football supporting Jaffa holds dear. Just a theory.
Living in Christchurch I am too far from the action to tell for sure, but the whole thing with the "Port vibe" seems a litlle, well, manufactured. Or it could be an expression of a genuine something underneath - happy to hear others' views. Time will sort it out. Corica will not be around forever, and A-FC will not be winning the comp every year. Once the gloss wears off and the money gets tight, supporters' base may also shrink to include just the truly faithful, who by then may be more similar to us than to something fake and manufactured and vacuous.
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Nah, just come in from mowing the lawn. Jesus, Ifill is looking his age.
My prediction by order of Corica that each nix player in the first 5 mins will be given the task of kicking Eze, to make him see red.
Supporting both these teams is doing your head in! Don’t think the Nix players will be listening to Corica and I can’t see them kicking Eze in the warm up, unless he needs it to maintain reckless rage shooting class feature + 2 goals against all derby opposition!
