If you are employed as glass cleaners then doesn't the BB pay you to clean the glasses, not the other way around?

One of Fritz's weiners (or should that be Wyners) and beer from the bar is the best combo for quality. The fact that I can't use my Visa EFTPOS card at the other vendors because they only accept Mastercard cards really sluts me off. However, now I don't get crappy beer that costs an arm and a leg from them so, hey.

Beer and food is enough to make me consider a Fever Whip-a-round for the money to build a Soccer specific stadium across the road from the stadium.

Yeah that would be great. The fans could own shares in it.

Wouldn't be a bad move, offer kids tickets for free and $10 entry for everyone else. Would hey a bumper crowd and the chance to end the season on a high.

Got a tweet back from TranzMetro

@ryans_rovers at this stage we have track maintenance planned over Easter but check our website closer to the time :)
Hope they have cheap car parking if they don't run the trains. I really don't fancy bus replacements.

Offering dirt cheap tickets is better than having a crowd of 500 turn up.

This. A headline of "Bumper crowd watch Phoenix bow out in style" is much better than "Nobody watches the Phoenix win". There are of course corresponding headlines in case we get pummeled by #KiwiMessi.

Could be the last chance to see him before his big OE. Hopefully the media push that narrative.

If you buy one ticket, you have a 50% booking fee. Yays!

Crazy that you can't buy a ticket if you don't have a password, even if to get one at standard price.

Is that the "We'll charge you to use your own printer" fee? ;)

Seriously after targeting the airlines Credit Card fees, surely the ticket companies "fees" should be next

Permalink Permalink

I could be wrong but, isn't their only income from the fees they charge? The rest goes to the club/stadium.

There is definitely a cost associated with ticketing. My issue is that you can't buy a ticket without having someone to ticket it. So therefore surely this cost should be incorporated into advertised ticket prices since they are a necessary part of obtaining your tickets.

Sure, add "value" taxes for credit card payment and courier tickets, etc., but the basic cost of ticketing should be incorporated into ticket prices.

Agreed. It's weird that they don't just do that, would make people less aggro about it too as they wouldn't even know it was happening.  Plus it'd stop embarrasing situations like this where people can plainly see that its a 50% booking fee. Instead they'd just think "a $15 ticket, wow that's cheap!"

Oh yeah I see your point now. I guess I've just purchased enough tickets for things I just don't notice it anymore.

To their credit, Ticket Direct normally does this. I complained about the first Nix game and soon after that their standard policy was to incorporate fees into ticket prices. Sadly the $35 All White tickets DO have added ticket fees. It will be up to each event organiser what they want to do but TD definitely allows for fees to be incorporated into the ticket price.

Agree that we wouldn't complain if our $25 contained a "hidden" $2 fee. It's understandable that someone has to pay. But when you tell someone it costs an additional $5 to print their own tickets or download a barcode to their smartphone, then people think you are taking the piss.

A flat included $2 fee would probably work out better for them as well as currently if someone buys $20 they only get a $5 handling fee, at a couple of bucks a ticket that would be $40.

Surely the median number of tickets per transaction would fall somewhere between 2 and 4 though? Know what you are saying though.

Flat fees make it a hell of a lot easier to manage large group bookings too.

Permalink Permalink

Incorporating it into the price would solve that too though. You wouldn't think you're getting ripped off 10+ times over, and paying $50+ in booking fees, you'd just think 'Thats the price of the ticket - fair enough'

Better option than a flat fee for them as that would cause them to lose a fair bit of money.

Surely it's such an easy thing for them to do, and makes a whole lot of sense.

Using my iPhone, I cannot seem to see these cheap prices anywhere - using the Ticketek app, or going to the website?

Is there a link?

When I enter the 'dontstopbelieving' password, it doesn't seem to work either.

So, anyone actually bought these cheap tickets yet?

Statistics. Bundesliga average attendance per game 45.000. Average ticket price $55 and 0.5l beer costs around $6,50. Not sure how much they charge for a bratwurst.

Not on the mobile site.

So, great gesture to fill the stadium, however making it as difficult as possible to actually find these cheap tickets is not great. Why can't they just have the tickets at these prices on the Ticketek site and not bother with passwords etc. Just make all adult tickets $10, end of story!

Ticketek really are a shambles. From what they said to me on Twitter, I think they treated this as a 'members pre-sale' rather than as special pricing for members. Shambles.

Still 2 1/2 weeks before the game, so it is fixable at least.
