Foolishly left my ticket buying a bit late and the site was saying there wasn't any "seats" left in the West stand. The site said the lower north stand (west side) was GA but gave me seat allocations. So not sure whats the haps. Maybe it just hates me.

You haven't left it late. I have PAX but I'm not at liberty to say what it is sorry. Needless to say we won't sell out 30,000 tickets.

Your ticket dilemma is one of the reasons I thought it was stupid to split up "Fever" into 2 areas. The stands are completely separate and I'm pretty sure even though you have GA Lower North Stand security will NOT let you into the GA West Stand where the vast majority of fever is going to be.

That's a bit arse and hopefully stadium security aren't going to be dicks about it (they probably will).

The West Stand holds 5000. I'd say that you'd be lucky for this to get anywhere near full since this is the dedicated "Fever" zone and people will more likely purchase tickets elsewhere.

In other news there are radio ads already saying that a special Fever Zone will be set up at the game so that fans can experience Yellow Fever. Again no mention of standing or anything like that, and I'm not convinced that ticket buyers are fully informed that the protocol for the West Stand is to stand.

Could cause issues...

I'm going to put it out there that the West Stand Fever Zone is nowhere near even half full.

I was thinking about sneaking over, but also wondered how well policed the seating would be.
I guess we will find out :)

You should try calling TD and pleading that you were misinformed by the website so that due to their error they should change your ticket for free?

Reposting for Fever yet to buy. "Fever" is split up into two areas so make sure you buy for WEST STAND GA YELLOW FEVER ZONE:

Thanks Ahmad - makes it nice and clear. Pity they split the Fever zone.

Its also a pity the stadium is split up like that - it is always nice to be able to mover around. I'd hope the security might be a bit reasonable about that, especially with a not huge crowd - but 'security' and 'reasonable' rarely exist in the same sentence...

I was in the "General Seating" area yesterday. I could not get over to either stand behind the goal posts.

The West and East stands actually have "temporary seating" which typically even up for smaller crowds like this game. However as otagofan said above they have installed the seating for RWC and are leaving them there until at least the tournament games.

So the ground is built with only 2 stands in mind, and they are separate. The add-on stands are also entirely separate, which may make it tough for people to move between them (I didn't try yesterday).

Crikey - its a bit hard to know exactly where to go for this one. It looks like the west end of the main south stand might have been a good fever zone - still basically goal-end but in a better space overall.

yeah, I was there yesterday too, and don't think it would be possible at all to shift from stand to stand- would have to walk down the front and around the pitch- not sure if that is even physically possible, and certainly imagine security would not allow it as they are using all these events as practice for the world cup.

That said- it is brilliant how close to the pitch spectators are- we will here every potty-mouthed comment from the players

The noise will be amazing, especially with the fever in full voice. Rugby crowds are incredibly quiet, and were yesterday- but on the occasions the crowd got into it, the noise really built up. (apparently 7500 there yesterday, so hope we can beat that- bought another 2 tickets today to help boost numbers!)

There is access onto the field but stadium regulations explicitly prevent you from going onto the field.

So if you're in the West end stand, how do you go and get a beer etc? Are there kiosks linked in to all the stands? And after enough beers, where do you go to make room for a few more?

That's a good point!

There is one giant food kiosk (IIRC) serving each of the main stands.

Not sure about the East West!

The pitch isn't artificial so you can probably wee on it.

My vague understanding is that there is acess to the concosue of either the North or South Stand from the end stands. If its not there are some serious issues.

Were you at the game yesterday Otagofan? I didn't think of it before now (because I don't buy food/drink at stadia as a rule) but I could only recall seeing one food and beverage station for each of the main stands - is that right? One outlet per 10,000 capacity stand? 15,000 for a sell-out?

This could see the time honoured tradition of transporting beers in to a Dunedin sports stadium continued! Memories of hip flasks taped to inside thighs, cans of beer inside hollowed out loaves of bread and the trusty vodka posing as water in the Pump bottle come to flooding back......

Yeah I was at the game, in the North stand. Certainly there was only one open in the North stand but there could be potenial for more. I would hope there were more because tbh, with the groud 25% full, food outlet was streched.

Um, in terms of prices $6.5 for a can of Speights and 5 for a pottle of chips/bottle of coke.

How does that compare? As one that never pays the gouged food and beverage prices I don't know if that's insane or out of this world.

Carisbrook was $4 for chips, coke and a can of speights. So a little more expensive. The FBS facebook page tired to justify complaints by saying its less than other grounds. IMHO thats nothing more than a cop-out not a justification.

Good question.. there are printing and novelty t-shirt stores around the place if that's what you're looking for.

Also, any news on when the open training session and signing sessions are?

Pretty sure that security will not allow sales of merchanidise at the ground. That will also include a zone around the ground too...
