I think this is the only time that free booze will be described as "difficult circumstances".
46 a little delayed. Needs more editing from our producer as it was recorded in difficult circumstances.
Could be a cracker once it's up though.
Yeah probably Thrusday night.

Hence the 'could'. Let's be honest, 2ndBest is the only one who has any idea what we said.
We put two cock-ups in to check if you were listening.
Well spotted.
Sort it out, I've been waiting all week, can't hold off another day! (unless you're trying to get this major announcement in there)
Patience is a virtue. And honestly, cut 2B some slack, this one is one helluva job to edit.

Don't bother. This podcast will be redundant after 9am tomorrow.
Unless, the news is actually in the Podcast, in which case spill the beans now you prick teasing bunch of mofos.

Tomorrow after work. Unfortunately coaching got in the way tonight..
Draft is fairly amusing. Drinking games and us shouting at each other. Some cougar gags and entertaining cameos from Greenie, Patrick and New Cakes Nik.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
In The Zone V46 is live at yellowfever.podomatic.com & Itunes bit.ly/YFZone.
Live from the Backbencher, Fever's spiritual home, the pod drowns their sorrows after witnessing the Phoenix capitulate against the Mariners, and discuss the merits of signing Corey Gameiro. Internationally, Nigeria are crowed champions of Africa, CONCACAF World Cup qualification gets underway, and there are plenty of Kiwis in action overseas. While locally Team Wellington fall to Auckland City again.
Hilarious listening to all the angst pre-Hernandez announcement.
I'd be interested to know if any of the poddy line up would now change their view on Herbert going (or at least move back into the 'don't know' camp) based on the massive rabbit he pulled out of the hat today.
There's still got a long way to go but Hernandez is clearly Ricki's recruitment - is it enough to get him at least a stay of execution?

For me, some of the Ricki angst remains. Most of the Gamiero angst has disappeared from me

I don't think I offered any Gamiero angst. Ricki angst unchanged.
credit when due, but unchanged. We are in a rut and need a (harlem) shake. At least the signing will give some hope to the current crop about next season and they may lift their game on the back of being a happier camper.

From Sky News - re Pistorius shooting...
"The highest gun death rate in the world is in Honduras with 68 deaths per 100,000. In the USA, the figure stands at 2.97 deaths, while in the UK it is 0.1."
Lads on tour, Honduras, oh yeeeeeaaaaahhh.

No. For me this is not about Ricki personally really - just the fact that the club's reached the point where significant changes need to be made in order to move forward. The reality is, in a salary capped league, it's easier to replace the coach than to have wholesale squad changes, which is what we also need.
One signing is not suddenly going to turn us back into contenders, especially considering the amount of dead wood we'll have to carry in the squad for the next season or two (and some of that dead wood would be on quite high salaries I would imagine).
As for the Gamiero signing, my angst is even more heightened, as the move is basically completely incomprehensible to me, especially now that he's starting in the Sunday game.

Can we at least see Gameiro play first before we toss the baby out with the bath water? (And to counter your argument - Fenton's debut)
Grumpy old bastard alert
Beside the fact that in his senior career he's shown nothing to suggest he could be a successful player in the A-league (unlike Fenton, who was a star at ASB Premiership level, and impressed enough at VPL level to be on Melbourne Heart's radar), what's the point of bringing a loanee of that calibre on a 3-month deal, when we are committed to 5 other players playing in or around that same position, for at least one more season?
Just makes absolutely no sense to me.
3 month loan deal with the possibilituy of a longer term?? who knows? plus there maybe some agreement between the clubs for ongoing loans both ways.
Queenslander 3x a year.

Tweets yesterday said the front line was likely to be Ifill, Fenton, Gamiero in some order.

Interested to know why you don't want to give him credit. "Poor recruitment" has been one of the biggest sticks we've all used to bash Ricki with so it seems a little hypocritical to not give him the credit for this.
Hernandez' salary will be within the salary cap so, no, this is not all about Welnix splashing the cash.
Oddly, I will probably give Ricki less credit if Gamiero works out because that one is clearly just an agent hawking him around the A-League on behalf of Fulham. Ricki probably didn't do much more than pick up the phone.

I think that's probably spot on.
Of course, if he does well over the next few games it becomes harder for us to keep him. I wonder if we negotiated any kind of first refusal (for the A-League at least) in exchange for some game time?

Chris James would fit perfectly into our new total football passing game.
