LA Galaxy player Fred is in talks with the Wellington Phoenix and may even sign a deal as early as next week. The only factor holding up this deal is LA's reluctance to let him go without a fee. This will be a great signing for the Phoenix an arguably the biggest in the clubs short history.

The one thing I will say Stevo is that very few of these items have any statement from Mr. Porter himself.  It's the media stretching it out, even the club have said they don't expect to hear anything until then end of the UK season

From Tribal Football:
Gretna winger Ryan Baldacchino is joining Melbourne's Altona Magic, with a view to playing in the Australian A-League.

Soupy Campbell is being linked to the Glory and the Jets too - all due respect to the players mentioned but if the Glory are looking to players the Phoenix have already overlooked as part of the foreign quota they're in trouble.

More media stretch; "The 29-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the campaign and it is heavily rumoured that he will be a signing a three-year deal with New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix."

Rumour about Jeremie Brockie going to the Glory:

I think the last bit says it all: "FourFourTwo Belief Factor: 6/10 - Glory are welcome to him."

It'd be great if he did get signed by either of those clubs.  The more Kiwi's in the A-league the better.  Although if he was to sign with Perth Glory he would get far more gametime there than he would at the Jets.

Surprised we've had no-one on here wailing about the fact that Porter's apparently injured. Again!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm personally waiting to see the extent of the injury, if it's just a small niggle that requires a bit of rest and therapy I'm still all for the move. But then I'm a bit more rational than some others around here.

There's some people on here who would object to a transfer if the player involved had cut himself shaving!

Like I said, I just happen to be rational. Though I think a lot of people aren't paying any attention to the site or the Nix atm except when a signing is announced, the complaints may start in a month or two if he is injured and we sign him.

Though if anyone wants to get it out of the way now...

LALAS!!! I was in front of the box with the LAG players in it for some of the Adelaide game and I tried to get some kids who were screaming at Beckham to ask Alexei for a wave.

What part of his body was he shaving?
Did he lose much blood?
Who was it?

English Leagues 1 and 2 finished yesterday. We've still got three spots to fill (IMHO striker, right back and defensive midfielder).

Let the announcements roll.

if our coaches can teach the aussie larrikin to use a razor properly, we'll turn his career around

i expect that our medical and fitness staff will quickly establish that the cause of the frequent blood loss is the fact that so much of his check is in shadow from that snozz

when we sort that with a bit of basic skills coaching and a light on both sides of the mirror and the lad will be an ever-present in 08/09

I keep reading he's out of contract in June but also keep seeing comments that whether or not he stays at Hartlepool  depends on what the club decides to do with his contract. Seems contradictory - anyone know if it's his decision to make or if Hartlepool have some sort of right of renewal ?

tony P was quoted in today's Dom as saying there was a "plan B"

cue Scottishbhoy - for the name of a player with a few B's in it (not to mention the bee in his bonnet)

I really hope we Get Porter!!  Based on the Youtube clip of him banging them in from everywhere I'd say he's exactly the type of striker we need.

Seemed to have a complete bag of tricks, rounded the keeper, chipped the keeper, scored with both feet, from close and long range, headers, tap ins and always seemed eager to and capable of beating his man.....

Come to Phoenix City JP.....
