But if you look at his playing history he hasnt really played many games in any season and seems to be on the move quite regularly... So you guys think another club/ couple of years before he looks to return to new zealand?

I would think so, but maybe a marquee spot could tempt him.

During last year's Confeds cup there was an article in the DomPost where Tony P declared his interest in signing Killen, but Killen said he wanted to stay in Europe for the foreseeable future.

We need a decent LB.  Tony hasn't been pushed during his time here and it appears to me that he is going off the boil and needs some pressure put on him (would be good for the AWs too)

As I see it:

Required signings:

1) LB
2) Tall Striker, strong, good head and very fast
3) Creative attacking MF

Surely anyone in the World Cup squad will be looking to impress and move up, not down. As much as I love the A-League it isn't Championship standard (yet).

Is Ian Hogg enough for LB cover? Always want to have as many New Zealanders in the team as possible provided they are good enough and he seemed to be the next cab off the ranks in that position.

Think Party All The Time has right back locked down for now.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I remain unconvinced by him. Seems to often be caught out of position (of course this could be due to the system we play).

I think this (that it is to do with our system of play) is the case more often than not. Its why we always seem to be on the back foot against Sydney and Melbourne, we send our wingbacks up the feild and then they overload Durante and Mckain/Siggy on the break

After the World Cup it could be a good opportunity to come home.

Not alot of time between the end of the world cup and the beginning of the season to get a signature. I would hope that by that time we would have most slots in the roster filled

The way we play we need someone with the wheels to get up and down the flanks which P.A.T.T. does pretty well.

Without knocking Lochhead to much, he gets forward well and he has been playing the last part of the season with a groin injury it seems. Still need plenty of competition for these spots though

How about signing Chris James on a 1 season contract.  Is a creative MF and a player for the future and would be classed as a youth player as well.

Nuno Coelho is a creative midfielder - and might be keen to get to know his Kiwi roots

I guess it's also possible that we could lose some of our All Whites after the World Cup, if they get offers from bigger clubs (Europe etc).

Dom post this morning said that the Nix are going cold on re-signing Dadi and Caceras. Caceras is linked with a possible move to Adelaide. No problems ditching Dadi....5 goals in 10 games is great but he is too old for another 30 games season. Shame we never got him when he was younger.

As for Caceras....is he trying for a new record?. Aiming to play for every club in the A-League. He already has 4 clubs in 5 years. Whats up? He has been good for us off the bench, but we only want players who are motivated to play for us...other wise he can ferk off!

As for the overseas quota of 4....Ifill and Greenie take 2. Does Diego have a Australian passport? I know Caceras does. If he does not then we only have 1 spot left for an overseas player. Greenacre said he had a list as long as your arm of players wanting to come from the UK to play in the A-League....expect some action from there in the next few months. Otherwise we have to recruit Aussies and kiwis.

Its 5 imports these days, and Diego does count as one.

5 foreign spots available. Diego uses one of those up.

Jamieson would be good, better than Lochhead.

Jamison impressed me last season, but this season seemed to be an average player in a sh*t team. Maybe we do as Hard News suggests and do a Smeltzy on him as well!

What do you think the chance of Durante and McKain going on loan till June to try and push for a WC spot. Like Simon Colosimo has signed a 4month deal with someone.

Hogg, James, and J Smith/Bright cover the three positions we need to sign players for, and are all Kiwis potentially at the right level. Hogg fills the all important youth spot vacated by Costa (Does Crowther still count) and James and the two strikers definately look like they need to come home and re-ignite their careers.
You know we belong together...

I do like the idea of giving James a go. Depends on how much he'd want to be paid. You would think peanuts to start with to get his career back on track and to be noticed for AW selection and those rich asian clubs

Allegedly

We need more proven options than Smith or Bright though.  As an extra man off the bench maybe, but we need another proven forward ahead of them.

Personally I think Smith would just be another Diego/Mulligan/Ferrante.

What about Viduka.

He seems to be sizing up the options of playing, and if Dadi can do it at 36 then DUKEs can do it at 34....

he is the out and out striker that we have been looking for. might be interesting to sign some championship players comming off contract aswell...

someone like nathan elington could be cool... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Ellington

many options for ricki iguess

I hate to be the type to shoot people down and all but really?  Joe Cole?  Let's suggest people who are actually good enough for this level and who we might have a chance with.

Viduka has already retired.

I'd be keen on signing James; he's impressed me when playing for the AWs.
