I don't want Dadi for another year, i honestly think he did a great job for us this year, but he seemed really lethargic at times on the field and I believe a more energetic / quicker target man will offer us much much more( assuming we find one). He was only really getting a little run of the bench inthe end and Ricki has said all along that he wants someone to start next to Greeny.

Kris Bright could be an option.

He / Dadiwill only get slower and slower.

We have a great fitness trainer at the Nix and so he would be far better at the Nix for another season. He's great off the bench but I think it will come down to whether he can commit to the fitness regime.

I watched Dadi closely in the last three games at the stadium and I thought he was shocking in all 3, especially the Newcastle game.  He was consistently beaten in the air by Topor Stanley and generally struggles to hold the ball up.  He was a sub as well yet looked so slow and tired.  He scored 5 in 10 which is great but as for marks out of 10 for his general play I'd have to say he's a 4 at best.  I don't think he's what we want over another 30 matches next year, in a squad of 23 having a guy who can't play 90 mins is an accident waiting to happen

Normo's coming home

Adrian switching clubs? Nooooo, not something he has a record of has he?

Would be a shame to lose him I think, usually great off the bench.

He's also worse than Mitch Nicholls. Which I thought was impossible.

Huke isn't that great. But if we get a youth team then he would be a good squad player.

"Meanwhile, midfielder Michael Ferrante and defender David Mulligan have not had their contracts renewed.

Pignata said discussions were continuing with striker Eugene Dadi and midfielder Adrian Caceres, adding that the club had secured the ongoing services of the majority of squad members identified as key for next season."

So that leaves 5 spots left to fill huh? Dadi and Caceres are in talks, so that may make it 3

Is Crowther still youth? If he isn't then 2 of those 3 have to be youth anyway, so we are looking for 1 more (non-youth) player at least... hrmn... interesting... quite a different situation to last off-season then

Dadi seems to be contemplating whether to continue with football, I'd rather he left on a high than tried to stretch out another season.

I'm undecided on Dadi. Wouldn't want him as the starting material, but wouldn't mind if we keep in the squad.

Think Caceres would also be worth keeping as a squad player, but don't think he'll stay here.

Is a big bastard with an ability to score tap ins, with the occasional bit of class. Though an old bastard. Would want to see 2 other good strikers signed before we let him go. Would be happy with him in the Mulligan/Ferrante position in the squad.

hasn't Caceres signed at Adelaide or is that only a rumour at the moment?

3 fgn confirmed for next season and we can have 5, so 2 spots left (or 1 if Dadi signed).
Youth, I think Crowther may still be eligible next season + Rojas so need at least 1 more (possibly 2, depends on Crowther).

Nah, we need someone with a much better pedigree than that. They need to be Ifill quality/pedigree from now on.

I'm pretty sure he's still keen on England for a few more years. Seems to be doing ok at Middlesbrough as well so I think he's got it in him to stay there as well.

I don't think Killen would come back quite so soon.
Permalink Permalink
about 16 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
Agree, I think he will stay there. Only chance is if Boro get promoted and he might be off loaded as they look for better players. But even then he would probably go to another Championship club.
Permalink Permalink
about 16 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History
But if you look at his playing history he hasnt really played many games in any season and seems to be on the move quite regularly... So you guys think another club/ couple of years before he looks to return to new zealand?
