Maybe, Maybe Not but What about Brockie? If NQF lose their licence would it be worth while trialling him again?

Agree with PJ. I don't mind Lochhead getting caught out of position when he's gone forward, but his crossing and passing going forward was very average all season... needs to work on a strength - either be good going forward, or stay back and do a mistake free job at the back. I think his defensive headers are his strength - but is it enough of a strength. We need options.

Our two worst displays of the season were the two games he missed.
That is because we have no other options at left back.

I don't mind Lochy most of the time but he's ridiculously inconsistant. (even more so than most A-League players)

Going through that list I see Moritz Volz is available, he's got a good pedigree having played for Fulham and is only 27.

I'm still waiting on Ricki to sign Nuno Gomes.  How sweet would that be.  I'd help pay his wages to make it happen (that's right, tempt him away from one of the big 3 Portuguese clubs with the prospect of $25 per week).

Would love Nuno Gomes!
Michael Ball looked decent.
How about Gareth Edds? Anyone know what he's like? Australian defender from Tranmere, could be one of Greenies mates wanting to come over.

I'm really keen on Chris James, seems like the perfect position for us an attacking mid. but how about Duncan Oughton?

If James can get a decent run of games together and put in some good performances for Barnet then i'd be keen

why why why is everyone so keen on James?  He is a journeyman who is probably struggling to remain a professional footballer.  He's barely played senior football anywhere and the fact he's struggled to hold down a place at any of the clubs he's played or trialed at (almost all at a level below the A-League) surely suggests that he's not up to it. Why the love for James?

Because whooooooooooooooooo thinks he's sh*t so he's obviously awesome.

If whooo thinks he's sh*t, that's good enough for me.

That said, he's looked good when I've watched him play for the AWs - particularly in the New Caledonia home game 2008.

i never said i wasn't. I said James is well below par. Like Elliot for eg - if he is playing - were f**ked. Everyone saw the difference when little mac came on for us against Mexico. Elliot is old, and is only in the team for what  he has done in the past.

and don't come and post links of Elliott in his Fulham days - that was like 50 years ago. It does not represent what he does now. These days he can't pass a f**king ball and if he does it's always back to the GK.

so instead of giving me sh*t for posting my opinion have a f**king cry instead.

It would help if you backed up your opinion a bit.

At the moment you just say. Eliot is f**king sh*t. Or James is sh*t. Would help if people saw some points to back that up. And, he can't pass a f**king ball doesn't really back up the opinion.

As soon as you say Elliot is sh*t you lose any creditability you had... which was none.

so basically when i can see sense i lose creditability ?

you lot treat Elliott as some kind of God but when i say something bad about him your on me like a rash.

i don't know, maybe you guys don't want to win the league next season. BUT I DO !

James won't cut it is what i'm saying.

Why won't he cut it?

from what I've seen of him, he is like Jerome Brockie. Technically not very good, no vision and takes the wrong option frequently. We can do better.

Your analysis of Elliott is way off, he has very good vision in the middle, has a good feel for what's going on, and contrary to what you say, is actually a pretty good passer of the ball. Admittedly he hasn't got a lot of pace, but that's not all that important for his game.

As for James, haven't seen a lot of him, but as JD has said, his track record over the past couple of seasons would indicate that there's a bit of an issue there.

What exactly have you seen of him? Im really interested to know what games youve been watching that no one else has.

Chris James, all people have is previous AW form, which was pretty decent. Went off the boil it seems though. nothing wrong with saying if he does well at barnet with a good run of games etc then hes worth a try here. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Allegedly

You're about as qualified as whoooo to make comments then, and he does so freely. So don't be shy.

alright, if Elliott is such a good player as you claim, why does the team's performance skyrocket when he comes off ?

he's past it, move on we want to be growing as a football nation right ?

anyway, people have have made this out to be a big deal when all i said is from what i have seen from James (AW's vs NC and a couple of others) we can find someone better. That's it.

In Auckland? A 3-0 win, if I remember correctly? He was ace in that game. Has he tidied his hair up since then, though?

All I can remember is James' performance against Wales, was really a standout, back then I thought finally AW has a player who can dribble, I feel he & McGlinchy could be the solution to our midfield...I mean we can't really adjust his performace based on his oversea's records, he was good in Fulham, but being released at a very young age didn't help him i think, if he can settle well in Welly why wouldn't we...just look at Smeltz, we had the same debate over him before he joins the Nix... I believe HN was saying Smeltz would be fourth in the pecking order when we signed him.  How someone performed in Europe could mean nothing when they come down here.  So for all you doubters, he could actually be phenomenal for us (though he could suck, yes).

Exactly, one thing I want the Nix to do the most is work really on on bringing back all these Kiwis with floundering careers, even if just for a trial. For the life of me I cannot see why bringing James, J Smith, Bright etc over for a trial would do any harm, even Old could be worth a check-up.
You know we belong together...
