He should do. Proved his worth last season and no longer has to wait behind the other guys. He deserves a chance from the start

Looks like a player who'd fit a target man profile and, like Greenacre, is also on the lookout for a deal which is longer than a season. At 33 this may extend his career, though the trade-off would be the drop down from Championship money. What do you Bristol fans think of him, worth a punt?

Hot off the press is that he his  close to sogning for QPR - SAUCE Mind you, it is the "Mail"
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Oh dear. Not quite the ambitions of the world's 2nd richest club, or whatever, I would have thought.

Greenacre, provided he can stay away from the physio looks about right for us. I would be interested to see who his striking partners were when he was most productive, as that may give a clue as to what kind of player could work best for us. Is this what drives the target-man target?

I know, I know, its serious!

Great idea. I'm still undecided if this targetman idea will work but I trust management.
Might investigate later if I have time

Yeeah zamora, not a good finisher, but works hard and is always in the fulham team, which means he must be doing something right?

And you think he'd switch from playing against Manchester to playing against Melbourne because?

Big bad bobby?  I don't think he should be an example for anything, other than what a striker should not be...

That's absolutely hilarious. Guess they picked it up from a Fijian sauce, so their readership would've been familiar with the Siberia they were talking about...

Still pretty funny though. We could have great fun with that if he signs for the Nix.

that is rather funny. Learn something new everyday.
I do think he will be signed to be honest.

Unless we can afford two overseas strikers and using up another import spot so we have 3 strikers from overseas. Although so far we only have two yeah? Our new signings?

And can we keep Krishna as a Kiwi citizen

What about Corralles? has he been here 2 or 3 years now?

Last question is qualification requires 3 years for residency?

Why does he not? He's worked here for about two years I think but maybe he hasn't stayed here between seasons or something?????

And I guess same question bout Corrales.

I do feel that Roy has the edge and will probably be signed

Is it possible that Gould is a standby keeper who could play if it was necessary?
Permalink Permalink
almost 17 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I think he'd be a bit old mate, he hasn't donned the gloves in the NZFC so he's unlikely to do it at A-League level.  We'll be wanting a keeper who is good enough be our number 1 and to push Paston.

I think it's key to have someone working with the keepers though and he'll have a genuine winning mentality

As far as I know he hasn't applied for residency at all and if he had I suspect somebody on here would've posted it, and I doubt it would all be processed before the coming A-league season starts if he was to do it now.  And according to wikipedia Krishna's only been playing in NZ since 2008.  Some chap earlier mentioned they need to be here 3 years, so assuming they're right he hasn't been here long enough.

So from those things it seems very unlikely to me, but there could be a lot more I don't know.

An interesting point I heard earlier on was that because every team can have one Asian player who doesn't count as an import they may try to see if Roy Krishna would qualify as an Asian player through his Indian ancestry.
