I don't think they're that bad - the Beckham game was $80 though obviously had Beckham.

$50 to see one of the most famous teams on the planed vs paying $35 or whatever to see the North Queensland Fury - not that bad.

I'll have to have a closer look at this whole buying ticket thing when I'm minus a couple of alcoholic beverages.

been talking to my travelling companions and they are not keen to pay that much for a friendly game of football so i guess if they are not willing to come with me and help pay travel cost's i will give this one a miss. it is after all only a friendly plenty of proper matches to watch over the coming season.

The ticketing strategies that have served the Nix and All Whites well over the last couple of season are;
    - keep prices down and fill the stadium
    - look after the members

I think the ticket prices over estimate the pulling power of Boca. Yes football fans will pay to see Boca but there is no "Beckham" factor or play-off hype to attract discretionary fans.

As a member I value being able to pick my seat a lot more than a 10% discount.

Still hoping for a big crowd and carnival night of festival football but I think some pretty average thinking behind ticketing strategies haven't helped.

If Argentina win the World Cup this game could be a huge drawcard.

Am I overestimating how exciting Boca's play is going to be?

I think they have missed a chance here, it wiouldn't have taken much to make a discounted members ticket come in under the mental barrier of $40 and encourage a drive for memebership to get some benefit out of it.

Personally I'd have priced silver at $45 and discounted 12%.  There is quite a mental challenge with a price that far over $40 to start with.  It is however quite a bit less than the Galaxy game from memory, but that included a free A-League match.

Really struggling to justify heading along to this one - can watch on tv, and while I would defo be attending if it was a match for points at that price I just can't afford it for a friendly, unfortunately, even with the 10% discount.

On the other hand, it is the motherfriggin' Boca Juniors...

Should really be a bigger drawcard than the LA Galaxy, although of course it won't because of the lack of CELEBRITY factor

Apples and Oranges but the Football Australia email has prices for the Everton game @$69.95 ("premium bronze" whatever that means).

I am not so much concerned with the price, though it's definitely higher than expected.

The main issue people not being able to select their seats during the members sale.

The last time we had that situation, the LA Galaxy game, we got stuck with a bunch of muppets behind us who complained to security we were standing up in the Yellow Fever zone.

I'll see how sales go, but I think I'll wait till Wednesday to pick seating.
With these prices wouldn't there be a reasonable chance you'll be able to shift seats without a lot of difficulty?

I'd not bet on waiting til match day to confirm a decent seat, though YF zone has expanded somewhat since LA Galaxy.

I agree that the price could have been priced a lot smarter, to fill up more of the stadium.
But 10% discount or not, I'd rather get a seat I am happy with, since I'll be there with my partner and other friends.

So waht's with the Ticketek system them? You can't even select an area/aisle?

I will go for a $48 ticket, even though it's still too much. The gold tickets are simpy way OTT and this was a chance to just make every ticket the same price instead of this gold/silver rubbish.

Also, although I am not a season ticket holder (although I intend to get one), I think the 10% discount is pretty miserly and doesn't exactly encourage any new people to get the season ticket! A 50% discount for members would have been a whole lot better and it would've made me buy a season ticket sooner rather than later. As it is, I am not really bothered if I get my $4.80 discount which won't even cover the cost of 1 beer!

Its not that expensive, whats a silver ticket worth to a regular season game 35ish?

$28 in TOTAL (including booking fee) for Silver tickets for the last 2 years to A-League games, so it's rather a hefty increase.

Yeah, I mean its only $15 more, and you will probably  never see these guys play again. I dont understand this whole 'its too much' BS. What else are you going to do with $15?

I think it's quite steep compared with a normal Nix game and the Bahrain game. I don't think it's BS to say the price is "too much".

It's still cheaper than the Toffees games in Oz or an AB test.

On balance it's worth doing (first home game of the new season, world-class opposition, etc etc), but i did raise my eyebrows when i saw the price (momentarily).

I still intend on going, but I don't know if the mates I had intended on going with, who haven't experienced the greatest that is the Nix at RoF, will be willing to pay. Here's hoping!

As stated, it's going to be over $20 more.

It doesn't put me off as such and I will (slightly grudgingly) pay it, but your average man in the street who doesn't really go that often isn't going to pay at least $50 for a friendly.

Is there a limit to how many tickets per season pass?
Permalink Permalink

And how do we get the tickets tomorrow if your season pass hasn't arrived?

Season passes won't be sent for at least a month I imagine.  You would use your membership number.

Are they on sale yet?

Answer: Yes, but I couldn't find an on-line link that was working so phoned. Spent over 10 minutes in call-waiting, but after 15 minutes purchase completed.

So if you buy tix now using your member number, can you confirm your seats when they go on sale to the general public? I mean, would it be possible later to choose where we sit & all together when coming as a group??? So confusing!

The link is not obvious on the ticketek website- i can only see a wait-list.

If you search, you'll find the buy link: http://premier.ticketek.co.nz/shows/show.aspx?sh=BOCAJNR10

Also, no ticket sales in the phoenix shop, apparently online/phone only before wednesday.

Got mine + 2 others today. Via the ticketek website. Pretty easy. It is very annoying not being able to choose your seat. I just kept refreshing the page until it came up with ones that satisfied me.

Could you please tell us (if you recall) what sorts of seats/aisles/area/etc. you were being offered?

Did it basically give you options all around the same general area when you refreshed or was it all over the place?

Tickets booked on the phone. LONG waiting time but once there it was very quick and got the seats we wanted (and can also book for others at the discount rate).

Tickets in the post - sorry no PAX - forgot to ask.
