In the top 5 A-League cocks.
While I trust your judgement on such matters, I'd really rather leave such an important statistic to lf1, he seems to be the authority on the numbers and the official top 5 A-league cocks seems like something you wouldn't want to get wrong.
Or should I say, cock up.

we could start to go a long way to fixing our problems by doing this - sign clapham. someone who has vision and can pass to feet and move into space. .
Well he wouldn't be any worse than Ward or Diego...
exactly since they just sit on the f**king bench it might aswell be a nzer that wont be played haha :(

I was talking about this today with someone, while watching Kosta's goal from the weekend.
The pass and move concept is one of the most vital parts of any successful team I told them, and as I continued, we realised the nix don't do this at all.
Sometimes Muscat, Leo might do it, but no one really throughout the midfield does.
And when they do, i.e. Ward, we score.
We do need to regig our team style alot. Starting with finding a creative midfielder who Ricki likes.

Preferably one from an established footballing system that has a reasonably physical league. Imo find whoever Postecoglu's 2nd choice was when he went over there (europe) hahah, can't be that bad..

Guys, Joel Griffiths is signing in Jan Transfer window, not happy in Beijing, doesnt get much recognition from Australia FFA, so wants to come back to A-League. During that window the following players will go:
Diego
Crowther
Toto
Ward wants out, but has another year on contract.
The money we save on those players, will go towards the Joel Griffiths signing.... mark my words
Ricki never liked Kosta, he didnt suit his style of play... Ricki plays very defensive, likes to keep the ball... but lately under pressure he is resigned to kick the long ball and chase.. this is our downfall.
Kosta was always a quality player, and is thriving at the Roar, his new coach has given the two wide players the freedom of the park, as he knows they will run their hearts out, just look at last week the way Kosta dropped back to defend, and when they get tired, he has Nichols etc on the bench.. Best side in the league. Whilst Ricki is NZ coach, Kosta will never play again.
But you heard it first from me! so thats my two penneth!
Welcome Joel in Janurary... he is supposed to be our Saviour!

Great another over 30s player. Most of the other clubs seem to have a youth policy of some sorts.Ours is just the opposite.
When they do get in the match day squad they get given buggar all game time then seem to disappear for a while again.

Blocker,
"Ricki never liked Kosta, he didnt suit his style of play... Ricki plays very defensive, likes to keep the ball... but lately under pressure he is resigned to kick the long ball and chase.. this is our downfall."
No source on anything you said but I would agree with this in that Ricki has " very defensive" or "long ball and chase" options.
Why resign to it I say. Can't he coach actual football?
I don't think he can coach football or men at the level required.
With the AW's he wasvery lucky with the results and very lucky the whole squad was naturally super motivated as you would be.

Sorry, in Football years, its Transfer window to Window, so what i meant to say is that Ward doesnt have to go in the next Window which is Janurary, but can go in the August one, so really he has the rest of this season to here.
But as a player, why would you want to sit on the bench when you are trying to attract attention from clubs looking at signing him!
Diego said to me on Saturday at the stadium, that he is concerned that noone will come and sign him? Its not as if they play reserve team football?
What i see from Ricki is that anyone that comes on the market he says "Sign him!" he did it with Ward, McAlister, Toto, Diego, Elliot, Ahmed...
I mean if any other coach in world football had signed the players that he had, and turned out to be lemons, they would be gone.
The only person he signed who was decent was Ifill.. but too much pressure on him now.
My biggest concern with the current situation is that all other teams are starting to pick up and win games, but not just win, play better as a team! Even the Fury look half decent!
Sorry to say, i go for a 2-0 defeat in the next match.
But the transfers are not rumours they are fact! I have sources, but cannot disclose!
If ya looking for a 15 goal a year striker! i was banging 15 goals a year in 18 games in Captial 2 a couple of years ago... thats about the same level! LOL

Durante, McKain (although he left cos of a ridiculous offer), have been two outstanding signings. I have to admit, if any other club had North and Vukovic they would start. I think we need both of them in their preferred position.

Ohh... thats a big call.. Muscat? in my opinion, dont really rate him, very hot and cold.. not even sure what his best position is... I agree with Reddy, great keeper, also agree with earlier Vukovic.. But Dadi.. he was terrible.. had one good game, that was that.. wasnt fit enough, didnt do much was just a big strong target man..
Lia is a very poor player, gives up too much possesion, never tracks back enough. We need a player in midfeild like McKay from Roar, runs the midfield from box to box. Brown floats in and out of a game.
My ideal team would be.
Vukovic, defence - Lochead (if fit), Durrante, North, Muscat. Mid - Bertos, Brown, Ward. Ifill - Strikers - Greenacre, Pavlovich.
Thats the team i would put out with the current squad. get back to basics 4-4-2

Muscat hot and cold?! Are you serious?! Muscat has been the only player this season who has played with anything remotely resembling consistency.
Literally the one single player.
Sorry, but ScoobyD is right about people having either short or selective memories

You're an idiot if you think Muscat is hot and cold. Have you watched a single game this season? He has been our best player in pretty much every game, and is much better suited to a defensive midfield role, not right back.

I'd like to know how we're getting rid of Diego etc in the January window considering their contracts don't expire until end of the season and there's very little hope of anyone signing them from us.
I also thoroughly dislike Joel Griffiths. If he could perform I'd at least be civil about him but I don't like him. Ricki needs to be far wiser about his signings.

Garcia.. you must be kidding? are you Muscat's brother? if you think that he has been the best player in the team this year, well im sorry to say, your eyes need testing..
A Defensive midfeild player... How many of those do we have in the team!
Take a real close look at this youtube link.. look how he ball watches! for the first, poor marking for the second, and then dragged before the 3rd went in... I could post a few more if you dont beleive.. what i sadi was hot and cold... in English, that means some games he plays well, others he plays poorly.. not poorly allthe time.
Im not saying he is a bad player, but if you think he is the best, then we are finishing bottom this year for sure!
As for Stan Collymore.....too busy working at Talksport!

Me too, turns out the two of us might have missed the memo about "football years" running to mid-season. I have it on good authority that a 1 year contract doesn't actually mean 4 months

blocke - he's not a dm, he was signed as is a full back who has been used - very well as a dm - he has been consitantl;y solid for the last two seasons we've had him in any position, RB, LB and DM....if we finish below expectations it will not be due to him!

I see it differently. First goal Muscat tracks his marker, Ifill doesnt track Brisbanes fullback. Best case scenario Durante picks up Kosta and Muscat shifts across to cover the fullback, or Muscat stays with Kosta and Durante continues his run across to pressure fullback. Poor communication/summing up the situation (and tracking by Ifill) with both committing to the unmarked fullback (Ifill's role) and leaving Kosta in space.
2nd goal was poor team marking in general. Muscat is marking Kosta at the throw in, McKay or Murdocca recieve the ball off the throw and return it person who threw in and make a run down the line while Kosta moves off Muscat who picks up McKay/Murdocca. We were outnumbered at the throw in 4 to 3 as shown in the image below (red dots Brisbane, yellow dots Phoenix). As no one picks up Kosta he is free to receive the ball. If Muscat follows Kosta then McKay or Murdocca would have been free.

If we get rid of Diego in January we may have to pay the difference of his contract if he signs for a lower contract than he currently has (highly likely), for the duration of his contract. ie. he gets paid $3k/week until April (I think that is generally the end of contracts for a league players) and has a contract offer for $2k/week. We pay the difference of $1k/week until April. We save $2k/week on a player that hardly played for us.
