H8 what rafa is doing with barry, it looks very unprofessional and all he did was annoy oneill and push the price tag up. Not to mention he asked them fo 15M for crouch which is just stupid considering how much he played him ( which i think was a big mistake - definitely better than voronin, and with kuyt on right who do we hav up front? His height can also add a whole new dimension to our attack). Pity aboout carson stuffing up v croatia- his price tag went down about 2M straight away.

Rafa seems to have changed a bit, I remember last season, his friends said he was much different. He never talked about anyone else other than players at his clubs now he's in the media about anything.

Transfers so far - Degen (free - RB) should be a reserve, Dossena (8m - LB) looks like a squad player

Dossena basically replaces Riise, but even though Riise has a much bigger reputation, the transfers leaves Liverpool -4m. Hopefeully he is a much better player.

I don't want Crouchie to leave but it seems he is going to. No real links to any player as a potential replacement, I think we should hijack Arsenal's bid for Huntelaar, but it's probably too late now. Other possible targets, not sure who there is Berbatov? Benzema? Vucinic? Gomez? Ashton?

No new news on anyone coming in

Alonso seems like he's staying now!! I'm a bit gutted that Crouch is going (going gone), he scored 11 goals last season and hardly played. I would have like dhim to play up front with Torres. Hope we sign another striker, seems like if alonso stays and barry comes we will have too many midfielders.

Woo the new season is under way. A win over Tranmere 1-0 Benayoun scoring. Cavalieri and Degen both played some part. Pics of both in Liverpool strip

I would hate to see us sign Keane, I don't rate him and he's got an over-inflated opinion of himself.

Still haven't given up on Villa. Saw an interview with Rafa where he was asked directly if he was trying to buy Villa. He didn't rule it out saying that he was an option that they were looking at.

Another possibility could be Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid. Apparently he is being targeted by an EPL club and his agent said  'I can only say that it's one of the best clubs in Europe and it's not Chelsea.'

In Spain they think that Man U are after him but they've just made a big offer for Berbatov so I reckon it could be us especially if you factor in the Torres/Atletico link.

Would be nice

Completely agree. That, plus if we're forking out money, I want a striker who can do a backflip with a half twist when celebrating a goal, not some rolly-polly b.s with a lame-ass finger point thrown in.

Can we afford Ageuro? Are all the rumours about us having no money true? I definately think we need another striker, but would prefer a proven EPL one.

Alonso, definitely. Who would you rather have Flamini or Barry.

Milky: Ken sucks, he's just a Ryu clone

Looks like Keane is on his way huh.. I hope we don't pay 20 mill for him as that seems quite expensive. I for one am quite glad as he is a proven goalscorer in the epl.

I really hope we go for someone else rather than Keane, Eto'o wants out and he should cost somewhere around the 20m mark that Keane's price has been mentioned at.

not a big Robbie Keane fan too. But he is a good player, nothing special. I hate how he points where he wants the ball passed.

Pacheco seems to be playing well, but really how much does pre-season have to do with the actual season. A draw against Wisla, Voronin scored again, wonder if he can keep scoring (or playing) when the season starts

Do you think Voroni will stay? seems like he will be one of the first to go along with Pennant? eto'o would be a great signing, did you hear that he maybe signing for a club in uzbekistan? random huh.

Alonso is more silky than Barry!! We already have Masher, Plessisr and Lucas who are exactly the same as Barry. You guys can have Barry!

Yeah Uzbekistan bid is odd, it's like 40m though.

Voronin has always been an odd signing, when we signed him no-one wanted him (In 442 he was mentioned as player most wanted to offload, before a ball was kicked) although one journo picked him as the signing of the season. He started off playing pretty well, and towards the end he was just horrible. I don't rate him, he's a decent reserve, but any player can produce a good season or two.

I think he'll probably stay, I think he's earned it in pre-season. But if he left, I wouldn't mind. I'd like to see Krisztian Nemeth get a run. Supposedly we are signing David N'Gog, suppose to be a promising striker although only scored once in 20 appearances (but thats going off wikipedia)

Confirmed David Ngog signed from PSG on a 4 year deal for 1.5M. Probably signed to develop him rather than for this season. The wiki page is correct, 1 goal in 20 games but the article I read suggested that was saying more about how poor PSG were last season than anything about Ngog.

Uuugggghh...

Robbie Keane. Let the rolly-pollys commence...

I'll have to trust Rafa on this one I suppose. Never been a big fan of Keanes, but willing to give him a go now that he's on board.

Pricey though, hope he pays it back in goals, with interest...

I am totally underwhelmed by this signing. I would describe the feeling as unexcited to the point of being disappointed.

If you ignore the fact for a moment that we do need another striker and don't really need another central MF then I don't see why Rafa would pay 20M for Keane when he wouldn't pay 18M for Barry.

Seems a pretty average (and costly?) signing for a team that wants to win the league.

It hurts me to say that I have to agree with you.

If we were going to spend 20M on a striker you would think that we could have done better than him.

I agree its alot of money but Keane scores goals. Always has , always will & with our midfield he & Torres will (hopefully) both get 20 goals next season!

TEN THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT KEANE...

1. According to his page on Bebo.com Robbie loves listening to music and picks out Blink 182, Robbie Williams, Ronan Keating and Eminem as some of his favourite artists.

I cannot see Villa only going for 20million otherwise Rafa would have had him. Berbatov at 35million, Bent last year at 16.5million, there are really no cheap strikers out there.

He scores goals in the premier league and he's not just a one season wonder either.
