More transfer rumours.......

Dele Alli, 18yo mid at MK Dons. Apparently a future star.

Ricardo Rodriguez, the Swiss LB currently at Wolfsburg. He played well against Ecuador and sent in the cross for the last minute winner. Sounds like Moreno has fallen through so chasing Rodriguez instead.

Antonio Candreva of Italy/Lazio apparently on the shopping list too.

Dear Real Madrid. After that game, if you want Suarez, you must now pay an extra $10million pounds per goal.

Was certainly far and away the best of our lads on display today. Holding on to him is the most important part of this transfer window, same as last year.

Wore my Liverpool shirt today figuring it was a sure thing that one of our players would make the difference. A few sour looks going around the office haha.

Was looking forward to the fixture list being released because I'm going to be in Dublin in October and was hoping I could pop over and go to Anfield. Looks like I'll be in with a chance of catching a game against Hull! Not too disappointed though as I guess that will make it easier to get tickets?

On that note, who has experience of getting tickets to Liverpool games? Is it particularly tricky?

I will be hopefully going to the round 4 game vs Villa. Had to adjust my flights as I wasn't counting on rounds 2 & 3 being away! Will let you know what if I come up with anything. Have membership with LFC and LFC NZ but figured worst case might be ebay, though that worries me a little. Don't wanna be f**ked over on the day.

  • First impression from the rear shot was it was a poorly executed headbutt (a ban in itself)
  • From the side, certainly a bite

What I'm going to do about it...

Did Liverpool just lose twenty million pounds off his sale price?

    Permalink Permalink

Closer to $80. He is untouchable now. He has just been a headcase and repeated at a big club. If they can't handle them, what show have others got?

Could potentially get a massive ban out of this that would seriously affect you guys...

FIFA laws say you can get up to two years. After 7 and 10 games for his first two chomps respectively, I wouldn't be surprised if FIFA throw the book at him in a big way.

Such a bad look for the sport.

As a repeat offender it would be a travesty if he gets anything less than the maximum. If you or I had bitten 3 people we'd be in prison.

Has any player ever been banned from all football by FIFA?

Ken Dugdale was banned from all football - playing & coaching - by NZF, presumably with FIFA approval, following his headbutt on the referee at Te Whiti Pk, Stop Out v Mt Wellington, in the late 70's.

    (see Maurice Tilltosen thread).

Suarez has actually increased his value now, as he'll get a handy little rest in all international windows, that sounds like a manager's dream. So we'll take that $120m from Barcelona please and thank you.

Yes they are. He's a 30 goal stick of TNT. He might blow a few of your fingers off but who cares when the other hand is full of diamonds.

4 month ban for Suarez from ALL football.

Works out that he'll miss 9 premier league matches and 3 in the champions league.

Many Liverpool fans are angry that they are bearing much of the punishment from this 4 month ban. While it may seem a little unfair I have about zero sympathy. Liverpool knew he was a biter and they signed him; they did it again and they didnt sell him. This is just the punishment for having scum like him on your team.

Agree with your latter point, but that's just the one-eyed nature of being a football fan isn't it. I'm not at all defending what he did, but I don't think it's surprising that Liverpool fans are sticking up for him despite what's happened. Being a football fan is about being fiercely, blindly loyal to your team, and getting pretty fired up about that at times. Sometimes, like in this instance and when things turn nasty generally, it can be a negative thing, but most of the time it's what we love about the game.

And agree with your former point as well lol, if he hangs around long enough we can just starting building our season strategy around this kind of thing!

I understand your first comment re one-eyed football fan but I am so pleased that he does not play for us as there is no way that I would stick up for him.

I believe you, but I also don't think you'd be quite as loud in condemning him either. There's an inherent hypocrisy in being a football fan that I would rather just acknowledge than pretend didn't exist.

I can understand where you are coming from Fitzy.

When Arsenal players act like Twits my first knee-jerk is to come up with excuses for them and try and play it down.

But to be fair it's real straw-clutching going on there... posting a pic of Chellini's past transgressions? Really?

On that logic it will be well justified for someone to proper murder Suarez next game out considering his transgressions?
