Arsenal and Liverpool could potentially force a 4th place playoff at a neutral venue with the following results:

Arsenal

Stoke City 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal 3-0 Sunderland

Arsenal 2-1 Everton

Liverpool

West Ham 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool 3-1 Middlesbrough

How good would that be?

11 May 23:31

Ha saw that this morn! Ronniemac pointed it out.

Also noticed that if those results did happen, and ManU managed to win their last 3 games, then ManU would actually get 4th hahahahaha

Ain't nobody wants that

Bwahahahahha....Just gotta clean the cornflakes of my keyboard !

Old Trafford is such a "fortress" its very difficult for any team to win there - even United !!

so even if all those results went their way & United won their next 2 x away games ... we'd still stuff it up by drawing at home to Palace on the last day !

15 May 00:31

Aaaaand one to go!

15 May 02:01
Absolutely stoked with that result. Have to say I was very nervous before the game!
15 May 02:10

I seriously thought Westham was going to get something off you guys last night... devastated to read the result this morn...

Well that's that then. Easy pickings for next week eh - surely you'll hammer relegated Boro at home?*

You're supposed to say something about not letting it slip

15 May 04:44

Haha screw both of you! I would've bet the lot on a frustrating draw this morning if I was that way inclined. Very happy. That 5% that teams drop mentally when there's nothing to play for can be quite telling. Hope 'boro are the same next week.

Massive congratulations to Dirk Kuyt on his retirement. He was immense for Liverpool.

Scoring a hat-trick in his final game to win the Eredivisie, what a way to go out!

19 May 04:43

Legend. Feyenoord's first for 18 years too - what a way to do it. Not many players get to go out like that; but Kuyt's always been the definition of a consumate professional so pretty happy for the bloke.

Now Liverpool fans  please don't be down in the dumps when you gift Champions League football to Arsenal in R38. Take consolation in finishing higher than Liverpool B and the CBC's

Cheers?

HT and fifth is looming for Arsenal. Who would of thought R1 is important?

30 minutes for Boro to score twice

Simply put Arsenal are fudged

Took my blood pressure at half time this morning, both my systolic and diastolic were up 20 mm Hg.

Be careful out there.

22 May 00:30

Well thank fudge for that!

Other results mean we pick up a qualification seeding so hopefully a slighter easier path to the group.

Quite exciting to be back!

22 May 06:39
The relief when Gini scored!!!!
22 May 08:11
Absolutely. I though Lovren had put a nail in the coffin - stone cold penalty that but you take the luck when you need it.

"...sure beats doin' stuff."

22 May 09:54

Back in the Champions League, job done. Next season could be all yours!

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

23 May 00:35

Haha Agger and Carra could still probably start!

Assumed the Sydney game was around a similar time to our tour in July, so shocked to learn it's this week! Can't imagine any player being too keen on that journey for a friendly when they should be on holidays. Post-season friendlies can't be that common these days.

23 May 03:25
Yeah it's a bit weird, especially given that it was only announced last month.
23 May 04:02

As a player I couldn't think of anything worse than a post-season friendly the week a long season has just finished tbh. Especially not with 24 hours of flying each way too!

23 May 04:36

Maybe just getting it out of the way before a proper break then preseason training. Are there any other matches scheduled later on?

03 Jun 09:53
Salah huh? Could be ruthless with him and Mane carving things up
05 Jun 20:15
Sounds like we're looking good to sign Van Dijk, he's apparently said Liverpool is his preferred destination. Very satisfying if true, when did we last sign someone who was also a high profile target for Chelsea and City?

Maybe...just maybe...we could end up with Van Dijk, Salah and Lacazette this window.

If this happens, that's brilliant but what areas are we still lacking?

  • LB and RB (or will Klopp move to a 3 man defence?)
  • GK - are we happy with Mingolet...has he done enough to be good enough for us?

"...sure beats doin' stuff."

05 Jun 22:24
Is Lacazette an option? I hadn't heard that rumour recently, thought it died down a while ago. That would be great. Not sure about RB and LB, but I doubt we'll buy another keeper. I think the most likely challenger to Mignolet is Danny Ward, but for now Klopp will be happy for him to stay on loan and get another season of experience under his belt.

His move to Atletico is a no go due to their transfer ban and Liverpool are sniffing around. Started doing the rounds a few days ago.

And we're in. Again. 3rd year in a row. You think reporters would get past the click bait of Arsenal + French Striker = Must Sign.

That said I've been keen on him all 3 years, guys a talent.

06 Jun 00:42

He was very close to leaving Lyon a year ago but stayed, and then hit 37 goals in 45 games across all comps. Amazing season in terms of goalscoring, and apparently he was in the double figures for assists too.

06 Jun 01:35
It will depend on what FSG means by having cash to spend but it's believed that we'll break our transfer record twice in this window and possibly a third time. Given we made more money than spent in the last couple of windows + we made CL (or at least the qualifiers), it will be good to see some cash flowing

60m for van Dijk? Is that right? Wow big fee.
