I can't stand him now. And that happened really fast.

His lack of desire embodies our capitulation in the league this season. We need less of these guys, and more Wilsheres etc who show a bit of grit and determination (even if it does get them injured sometimes!).

This squad had all the skill, but not enough attitude. We need to buy ourselves some attitude.

Yesterday was very telling.

Jack's been out most of the year on top of a career littered with injuries & has played about 15 minutes since his return.. Within 5 minutes he's diving in everywhere and not giving up a thing.

Walcott on the other hand has fallen out of favour and is fit but can't dribble for fear of getting injured, while pulls out of challenges and looks like a pussy. That one v one with Joe Hart was classic. Had he actually stretched Hart might have clipped him, but at least we'd have a lead.

@AFCAMDEN
Welbeck's injury looks a bad one & thoughts at the moment are anywhere between 3-6 months. Full results on Wednesday. Gutted for the boy.

This guy usually seems to be reliable with injury news. Yet another crock. Probably means we don't see him until February again and if anything, it probably means we hold onto Walcott now. Saw rumours of Sturridge pop up the other day. Another crock who is probably good friends with Wilshere, Welbeck and Ox so he'd be able to keep them good company in the treatment room at least.

Don't think that will affect Walcott's sale. I honestly reckon the boss is done with him. His comments a few weeks ago when asked about him were telling.

24mil will do just fine.

Sounds like Granit Xhaka is nailed on, so that's probably the midfield sorted.

Ox will stay.

Walcott's replacement should be a Striker. Start the season with a big shiny world class one, and Giroud, with Welbeck coming back into the fold by October.

Push the boat out with shedloads of money on it for Lewandoski.

With Xhaka coming in does that push Santi to the outer?

I was always a fan of santi on the left

Santi is our best central midfielder and IMO one of the best in the league. It's no surprise our season fell apart without his influence.

Yea no doubt, completely agree.

Have a feeling that the future of our central midfield won't include him though...

U21s won their play-off final, promoted back to U21 top flight now. Very important for our club that they got back there.

Trophy ceremony looks like it was pumping.

So once again it comes down to a final day scrap for CL. Things won't be pleasant in the stadium if United have won their game in hand and we're 0-0 going into the last 20 minutes.

We only need a draw though as we are 3 pts clear of City.

Ah right was thinking we had to win. Don't think it will be easy just because it's Villa. Their last PL game for who knows how long and most of them will be playing for PL transfers.

You can cheer up a bit now!

Scholes a while back: "The last thing I want for United is for them to be happy finishing fourth and winning the FA Cup. That's what Arsenal do."

No worries then.

Good stuff. Sounds like there's going to be a big shake up of our youth coaching system including Henry coming in as an U18 coach. Should get every striker at the club working with him, can't be anyone better to learn the art of finishing from.

Still wouldn't be that upset if they end up 4th if it means Van Gaal stays and Guardiola manages a Europa club. Surprised it's taken United so long to get back into the top 4 though, let alone be title contenders again. How much money have they chucked at it now?

This morn I read 315mil over 2 seasons.

Meanwhile, Arsenal once made the top four with this lot

Yea I wouldn't be upset either. I was giggling away when Reid scored that last one, said to my work colleagues "Man I'm loving this. Either ManU or ManC won't be in the champs league next season and I don't even care which one it is"

Welbeck out for "approximately 9 months." Next season pretty much written off and will be at least 19 months out in his first 3 years at the club. Terrible news and feel sorry for the guy but this is typical Arsenal. We sign a guy who isn't good enough to begin with, persist with him through injury, and now he'll miss another year of development. We'll never manage to get rid of him now.

Biggest fear is this means Walcott stays and then in January Wenger will use his return as a reason not to fix the forward issue he ignores this summer.

This is pretty bad luck for the lad, but it's nobody's fault. I get that you're pissed off with Arsenal most of the time but attributing every little thing to the club as some kind of error is a bit meh.

Yes, Everton not much use at all.

A defence like a block of Swiss cheese attacked by a mischief of mice.

Didn't say the injury was the club's fault. It was an error to sign him to begin with. I said it at the time he was signed, and so it has proved. We wouldn't have even signed him if Giroud hadn't got injured the game before the window closed. He's just another name on a long list of bargain bin panic buys who didn't work out. He did get us 1 big goal at Old Trafford so wasn't a total flop but was never good enough to sort a position that's needed sorting for years. Sadly it's the other knee this time, so with both knees gone in consecutive seasons he could be pretty much done now.

Numerous reports now saying Welbeck out for 9 months

Really sad situation, hopefully he's not to down on himself.

When he has played, he's been valuable, and for more than one goal - he won us 3 points just last week! He got a last minute winner against the champions as well, all that despite being eased back into it after a long injury.

It's disappointing he has picked up these injuries but that's a pretty extreme level of negativity...

Really sad because I think he's been very, very good since coming back. He offers more than any other striker on our books.

Anyway, Spuds will demolish Newcastle now - Newcastle have 0 pride.

Won't necessarily be an easy game just like Villa may not since it's the last chance for the players to play for PL moves but yes would have been tough if they were still playing for survival. Can't believe Fat Sam did it again. 4th from bottom is his thing.

Read that our Xhaka bid got rejected, so we immediately went back with an improved offer of 50m euros.

Very interesting. Wenger must really rate this guy, but more importantly, I'm loving the change of tack with our transfers these days. 5 years ago a rejected bid was the end of the road for us.

Nice try. Hard to comment having not watched him. From youtube highlights he looks a bit like Alonso which would be the sort of midfielder we've needed since Arteta's legs went. We'd still need a striker of similar level to make it worthwhile.

I don't understand why a lot of people still push the line that we don't spend big money on players these days - just have to look at Sanchez and Ozil. There was a change in policy about 3 years ago.

I am actually very disappointed with this injury as I happen to agree with you that he was never going to come in and score 20/25 goal a season. A good player but not great. I said that at the time and of course was jumped on by almost everyone. Of course I did not want him to leave, but if he could get a regular game at Arsenal then I was OK. Unfortunately for him this did not happen.  He is a terrific bloke and this will be a massive blow to him.

Some said he was a snip at $18 m but I think you paid too much.

Lets hope he comes back better than before.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
