you mean how long our tail is!!?!? Vettori has to come in before Mills, and that leaves a tail of Mills southee, patel, Obrien - none of these have really scored huge runs, bar one freak occurren from Southee.
Sorry you are right I thought it was a short tail because the tail is SHORT of talent.wellyphoenixfan2009-02-02 17:32:02
Elliot did the job he was asked to do, hang around and support Taylor, that is why he came in above Broom...the innings needed to be stablilesed which Elliot did. Its unfortunate he got our the way he did cos he was looking ok.

Will be a tough selection when Ryder comes back, cos Guptil has to stay as does Broom........I can't see the team changing for game two they'll bring Ryder back in game three.

nope, from the reply I've watched is going over the stumps. there is noway Haddin can have seen the ball hit the stumps the fingers of his gloves made contact as he caught the ball - umpires should have called it a no ball as Haddins gloves were in front of the wickets when the ball was delivered = no ball.
Queenslander 3x a year.

On a different subject. How much of an idiot was Mills, when we just needed to push the ball around and pick up singles he kept stepping out for a big shot. When the bowler adjusted, he adjusted by stepping out so far that he couldn't protect his stumps
Also quick question. When you hit more runs than you need to win the game (e.g. last night's match) how come on the official score card it is always just the target total.

Well said martin. Leave it out linds, having a dig at Mills is very harsh to say the least. There's a reason he was man of the match, excellent with both bat and ball.
Three for me, and two for them.

I really dont get why the aussies are playing hardball over this and acting all offended, its clear that Haddins gloves were in front of the stumps and that he knocked the bails off. They do not have a leg to stand on

Vettori should just call Ponting on it and say yes we think Haddin is a cheat if he said the ball hit the off stump. It clearly didn't, and he had to know that, or at least not be sure- ala Graeme Smith.
If you don't know don't claim the wicket, you cheat. Plain and simple.

I agree, lets come out swinging on this one. We are clearly in the right. Call them on it

Vettori drops nuts
MELBOURNE - Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting has claimed something of a victory in the "glove-gate" furore, saying Brad Haddin received a text message apology from New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori.
But the New Zealand camp stopped short of using the word "apology", saying only the pair had exchanged text messages, and had moved on.
Ponting said Vettori texted Haddin to clear the air after Haddin objected to what he thought was Vettori doubting his character after Neil Broom's controversial dismissal in the tourists' two-wicket win in Perth on Sunday.

I reckon the Haddin cheat was as bad as the Collingwood desicion not to call Elliot back at the Oval. The good news is, on both occasions, we won on the last ball. But we have every right to be miffed, Haddin clearly cheated. W*nkers.

An Loltastic 5 mins, I think I just heard the worst, most dreadful piece of pro australia commentry ever....
Hussey bowls 5 wides down the legside, its fast and its flat.
Commentator says hes looking for leg side stumping WTF!
Cause you know....Fast, flat balls always draw the batsman out of his crease. And you never tell the keeper you're going to bowl leg side on purpose....
Again....WTF!
