He'll be at the Bitumens. I'm guessing they'll announce him after Phoenix awards next week.

15 May 22:03

interesting that the Kurto move was announced after the a-league awards yet Rudan wasn't? Also odd that Macarthur have named their manager but WU have not, it seems clear they are waiting for something but what? Rudan is free to go where he wants, surely signing with them doesn't stop him attending his past clubs award ceremony?

He may be going through the same extended agonising process (to join) with them as he did with us (to leave).

Maybe his lawyers are getting the 8-week out clause stitched in.

Or maybe he is playing hard to get.  At least some of the Australian pundits would say of his first year as a HAL coach that he has "single-handedly rescued a moribund no-hope club and turned them into would-be-contenders, overnight", and he is banking his new deal on that reputation.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

15 May 23:25

perhaps, just puts a bit of a question to all those who assumed it was a "sure thing" that he was going and already signed up.

You do realise it's perfectly possible to be signed up and not announce it until a certain mutually agreed time?

Need I remind you that you were saying these exact same things about Kurto as well?

15 May 23:30 · edited 15 May 23:31 · History

Nah, he's signed. No way would WU be making such player moves if he hadn't. He's just trying to be 'respectful' and leave post Nix awards to avoid any awkward questions.

His mate Lou Sticca will announce it shortly you'd think.

Like I said, just because it's not announced doesn't mean it hasn't been a sure thing.

sorry, but I have missed how this nickname came about. Anyone care to enlighten me?

All the press are treating it as such, and they haven't been wrong re anything Rudan has done. I'd expect it is as per speculation and hes announced next week

The blacktop of the bitumen with the greenery of our suburbs. It seemed like a perfect combination.

I've inserted the link because I don't think you'd believe me otherwise.

You're right. I would not have believed you. I like the colours, but the reasoning is mad.

Yes surely they should have used tarmac.

I'd be ok with Rudan signing with Victory, most likely heading West though

19 May 01:32

As much as I liked, respected and admired the man,

I am not against booing the hell out of him in his return to Westpac.

Rudan's got too many Sydney connections to sign with the Victory (although not to sign with WU, mind you!)

19 May 14:16

Perhaps he'll take over at Sydney City? Stranger things have happened, just saying. I could live with that.

A "rising" good coach in his own right. I wish him well.

He will fail miserably, be sacked at seasons end, Rudan will be crying about being away from his family in Sydney and quit the Tarmacs then be appointed Macarthur boss, easy.

frankly, this "family" issue would be a massive red flag for me as a prospective employer. If my club wasn't where his family was I'd be hesitant to hire him, and unless he was the enxt messiah I wouldn't be digging into my own pockets top bring his wife and brats to my town.

He's already basically said moving to Melbourne is a possiblity that his family is willing to consider.  Some family/friends there, school the same so no curriculum changes etc....

20 May 04:22

It won't stop his extra-curricular. He'll be separated within the length of his contract.

what the flip is the difference in the curriculum? Ausi physics verses NZ physics?

Maybe they however teach different ethics

Actually a fairly normal thing to include a family relocation package when hiring from out of town, particularly for senior or specialist positions. Had it myself a couple of times.

Yeah it's really not that different; have done a bit of both. Biggest difference is that the final year is '12', not '13'

If they were worried about qualifications, NCEA, Scots College offers International Baccalaureate.

Let's face it, Mrs Rudan said NO and that is that.

Australian college system informs students that they invented the Pav, Pharlap was theirs, Russell Crowe was born there....And underarm bowling is good sportsmanship.
