Your going to be disapointed then. Never ceases to amaze me how  people from Porirua/Kapiti and further North and LowerHutt/Upper Hutt and further North can make the trip into town when its a howling Southerly. But its to hard for the precious people of Wellington to make whats apretty simple trip to the Hutt.

I agree that around 12.5K capacity (maybe with the ability to bring it up to 15K with temp seating) would be perfect. And based on the vibe in other rectangle stadiums, I believe it could be used for the women as well - who over time should continue to grow!

Speaking of the women, I would love to see at least one game at Newtown Park. The atmosphere there for the Men's National League final was brilliant and it says the capacity is about 5,000 which is perfect. Could get the Wellington Zoo involved (and maybe the WCC re public transport? Dreams are free right?)

Plenty of vacant land on the port side.... only issue there is the land is sits on. The BNZ building was prime example as to why I think there would be skepticism to build again around that area.

I believe that Taita District cricket club have been playing there for decades - certainly long before the Phoenix Women were formed (and the men too for that matter) so why should they be moved elsewhere for a professional team ? Fraser Park is a community asset covering multiple local amateur sports clubs and I know many of their members were aghast when the Phoenix, as a professional sports club, took over the management of the council's Sports Centre there last year.

Yep have heard that as well but your post is the first i have ever heard its being done that side. My understanding it was going to be on the side that is currently being used for Football. Didnt think it was the intention to have anybody moved on from grounds they are currently using.

You can’t put it on the current football side (where the Weenix play) because it’s full astroturf and there’s less room to put down stands
