Agreed. Ballane try convincing fans to make the trip in the rain and dark out to FP, it won't work at all. theprof is right, by the time HCC has to put money into getting it up to standard they'll be amalgamated and one council so you're probably best to build a 10k rectangle seater at Waitangi Park.

They should have got a commitment for a 10k rectangular stadium the second the Nix got launched.
Your going to be disapointed then. Never ceases to amaze me how  people from Porirua/Kapiti and further North and LowerHutt/Upper Hutt and further North can make the trip into town when its a howling Southerly. But its to hard for the precious people of Wellington to make whats apretty simple trip to the Hutt.
Just who was going to fund this imaginery stadium.

AGREE. Dome was quoted years ago as saying over half the fan base travels from further afield than Wellington City (Lower & Upper Hutt, Porirua, Palmy). I travel wind rain or shine from Upper Hutt to Wellington City but god forbid someone from town has to venture out the city.

Realistically, no matter where the Nix choose to move to, some people wont be happy. Porirua is certainly very hard for me but I still go. That "FP will be the death of the nix" line is laughable.

From Hutt City Council Facebook (annoyingly I can't find it on their website):

We’re reviewing how we invest in recreation, sport and play across Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai Lower Hutt 🏃‍♀️⚽🏀

A lot has changed since our current approach to sports field fees and priorities was last reviewed back in 1993. Participation trends are shifting, clubs are under pressure, and we also need to make sure every rates dollar is working hard for our community.

Council makes a significant investment into recreation, sport and play facilities and spaces.  However, savings need to be made to ensure rates are affordable in the future.

To help guide future decisions, we are hosting a series of community hui, and warmly invite anyone with an interest in supporting active communities to come along for a kōrero.
